MILFORD JUNE COOPER OF 13 ANDERSON COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR 14 SIXTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON JUNE 15, 2007, 15 AND TO EXTEND TO THEM BEST WISHES FOR 16 CONTINUED HAPPINESS IN THE YEARS TO COME. 17 18 Whereas, Milford June “Dolly” Cooper married the love of his life, 19 the former Melba Irene Blackmon, on June 15, 1947, and on 20 Friday, June 15, 2007, the couple will celebrate the momentous 21 occasion of their Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary; and 22 23 Whereas, this wonderful couple has always been proud to serve 24 their local community, the State, and nation; and 25 26 Whereas, a decorated veteran who served five years in the United 27 States Army 30th Infantry Division, Dolly Cooper also served with 28 great distinction in the South Carolina House of Representatives 29 from 1975 to 1989; and 30 31 Whereas, Mrs. Cooper’s devotion to her husband has always been 32 evident as she supported him unquestionably through the years and 33 stood proudly by his side as he ran for and served in statewide 34 office and served on numerous community boards and 35 organizations; and 36 37 Whereas, the couple are proud to boast four wonderful children: 38 Bob, Beth, Tim, and Dan; and 39 40 Whereas, not just devoted to serving their community but also 41 their God, the Coopers are active and committed members of First 42 Baptist Church; and

1 [4210] 1 1 2 Whereas, this loving couple celebrates an impressive milestone in 3 their lives marking sixty years of love, devotion, and mutual 4 support on June 15, 2007, and with family gathered around, they 5 will celebrate the richness and beauty of their lasting commitment 6 to each other; and 7 8 Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the South 9 Carolina General Assembly pause to honor this extraordinary 10 couple on their momentous Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary and 11 publicly thank them for their many contributions to the betterment 12 of their fellow man. Now, therefore, 13 14 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate 15 concurring: 16 17 That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South 18 Carolina, by this resolution, offer the warmest congratulations to 19 the Honorable and Mrs. Milford June Cooper of Anderson County 20 on the occasion of their Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary on June 15, 21 2007, and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness in 22 the years to come. 23 24 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 25 the Honorable and Mrs. Milford June Cooper of Anderson County. 26 ----XX---- 27
