Brandeis University Request to Take Six Classes Office of Academic Services Fall 2017

A meeting with a class advisor in Academic Services is required to petition for an academic overload. Please type and print this form before meeting with a class advisor. Requests for enrolling in a sixth class are reviewed by Academic Services and the Registrar’s Office. Please make an appointment with an advisor by calling 781-736-3470 or by visiting Academic Services, 2nd floor Usdan Student Center. Same-day appointments are also available Monday-Friday from 1-5pm. The last day to add a class for the fall 2017 semester is September 13, 2017.

Students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year may request to take six classes, or a maximum of 26 credits. Requests for enrolling in a sixth class are typically granted when a student has a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 with no grades below a B in the preceding semester. Students who have cumulative grade point averages of 3.00-3.49 are considered on a case-by-case basis. It is generally expected that a student will have successfully completed at least one semester with five full credit-bearing classes, prior to requesting to enroll in six classes.

Students enrolled in more than 23 credits will be assessed an additional tuition charge ($1,490) per credit. Your approval and enrollment in any overload course implies agreement to pay the appropriate additional tuition.

All required registration forms for the class must accompany this request: special registration forms, consent of the instructor (if required), and/or time conflict forms.

Please complete this form and bring to your meeting with your academic advisor.
