1980-1981 Clinical Nurse Johns Hopkins Hospital General Research Center: Provided direct patient care to patients enrolled in clinical Research studies, assured compliance with protocols.

1981.1985 Senior Clinical Nurse- Charge Nurse Johns Hopkins Hospital General Research Center and Cardiovascular Step-Down Units Supervised Clinical Nurses, coordinated in-service nursing education, prepared staff schedules, responsible for admissions and discharges, liason for principal investigators

1985-1994 Research Nurse/ Program Coordinator Johns Hopkins University: Nurse Manager for Cardiac Electrophysiology Service, supervised all nursing and support staff, directed patient-family support group for patients with implantable pacemakers and defibrillators, Participated in independent and collaborative research projects and publications, prepared all FDA and IRB documents and assured regulatory compliance.

1994.1997 Pacemaker/ Research Nurse Coordinator Cardiac Diagnostic Ass. Managed independent outpatient pacemaker clinic in collaboration with two Hopkins trained Cardiac electrophysiologists. Responsible for pacemaker programming, coordination of research projects and patient and family teaching.

1997.1999 Program Manager: Johns Hopkins University, Cardiac Electrophysiology Research Program. Responsible for the development and management of a multi-project clinical research program in the division of Cardiology. Responsible for triage and initiation of all research projects, IRB documents, consent writing, preparation of budgets and regulatory documents, grant writing, staff management, completion of all case report forms, in-service education, staff and physician training. Participated as co- investigator on all research initiatives.

1999-present Deputy Director, Visiting Cardiology Program, St. George’s University. Developed and manage a visiting cardiology program Including the initiation of a pilot pacemaker program) with the Grenada Ministry of Health, the Barbados Cardiology Team and the Vice Chancellor, St. George’s University. Duties include, in addition to clinic management and performance of diagnostic testing (echo, EKG, treadmills Etc. ) recruitment of all cardiologists, coordination of all teaching activities, community liason for the University.

Miscellaneous :

1985.1990 Nurse Advisor to Cardiac Pacemakers Inc. Responsible for advising pacemaker /defibrillator company on patient management issues relating to pacemakers and the automatic implantable defibrillator. Prepared and delivered lectures on cardiac pacing and defibrillation to local hospitals in Maryland, Washington and Virginia as well as national and international cardiovascular health conferences.

1989-1999 Developed and managed a public health project in Guanaja Honduras in collaboration with physicians and nurses at Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition to initiating and sustaining a basic medical clinic, basic first aid, CPR, family planning, diabetic health and maternal child health care classes were taught.
