Assessment Processes: The students will be assessed by labeling the prime meridian, equator, tropic of Capricorn, tropic of Cancer, International Date Line, lines of latitude and longitude on maps and globes, and a compass rose using cardinal and intermediate direction. The student will complete a Venn diagram telling how longitude and latitude lines are similar and different. Also the students will be assess on there ability to publish a newsletter using content knowledge.

Instructional Procedures:

Monday: The teacher and students will complete a KWL chart on what we know about a map or globe. The teacher will divide the student into group of four and give each group an inflatable globe. The teacher will explain the directions on a compass rose.
