PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Kennel Owner and Professional Sled Dog Racer Self - Fairbanks, AK 08/1994 - Present  Performed daily care, training, and racing of between 30-100 sled dogs, working long hours in physically demanding, harsh conditions.  Managed 2-3 employees at any given time  Secured and collaborated with corporate sponsors Finisher of 17 Iditarod’s (including 16, top-20 places) and 4 Yukon Quests (4, top-five places) with no scratches, plus numerous other races worldwide  Used and maintained kennel-related machinery including gas and diesel generators, solar panels, wind generators, battery banks, snow machines, ATV’s, and various other small engines at a large, off-grid property  Coached new mushers to qualify for and run the Yukon Quest and Iditarod  Founded and organized a 300-mile sled dog race
