Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Leadership (ADECL) The ADECL is designed to prepare Senior Pre-school Teachers for the role of centre leadership.
Eligibility Criteria: a) Be ECDA-certified as a Level 2 pre-school teacher b) Have completed an ECDA-recognised diploma in early childhood care and education1 c) Have met the competency level for Senior Pre-school Teacher (with reference to the Skills Map2) d) Have completed the pre-requisite core course(s) as identified and offered by ECDA3
All nominators are to ensure that the completed Official ADECL Nomination Form (saved as a word document), together with the documentary evidence and compulsory additional documents, are submitted to ECDA via email at [email protected] by 31 October 2017,
1 The list of ECDA-recognised diplomas in early childhood care and education will be determined by ECDA, and will be subjected to review periodically. Some examples of current ECDA-recognised diplomas in early childhood care and education are: 1. Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education – Teaching (DECCE-T) 2. 3 The pre-requisite core course for the 5th intake in April 2018 is ‘Mentoring for Professional Growth (LMAMFPG17E)’ offered by Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Nominees who have not completed the ‘Mentoring for Success (LMAMNFS14E)’ must register for the ‘Mentoring for Professional Growth (LMAMFPG17E)’ course via ONE@ECDA. Only nominees who have completed ‘Mentoring for Success (LMAMNFS14E)’ or ‘Mentoring for Professional Growth (LMAMFPG17E)’ will be considered for the April 2018 intake of the ADECL.

c) A maximum of 3 examples of work and/or 3 pieces of documentary evidence in soft copy may be provided to show how the nominee has met the competency.
d) Documentary evidence provided should show clearly, the nominee’s leadership potential.
e) Possible documentary evidence include: i. Lesson plans / reflections ii. Observation notes / analysis iii. Photographs with captions iv. Sample resources v. Notes / journals vi. Mentoring reflection journals
f) Late and incomplete submissions will not be considered for enrolment into the ADECL programme.
