Turtle Challenge
Driving Question: How can we share information about turtles and convince people to help protect turtles in our state?
Background This week we read Turtle Bay by Savior Pirotta and learned many interesting facts about turtles.
Challenge Design and create a project that shows what you are learning about sea turtles including their adaptations and habitat. Your project should also convince others to help take care of turtles in our environment.
Criteria Your project must: Have a least 5 facts that you learned from your research (at least two different sources) Be attractive, colorful, and use correct spelling Be persuasive - convince others to save turtles in Virginia
Possible Project Ideas: Technology – Comic Life, Keynote Presentation, Pixie slide show Children’s Engineering – 3D Turtle model, turtle habitat (must include a moving part) Art/music – Turtle diagram, write a song to sing to the class Physical Activity – Game (something that gets kids moving and lets us know what you have learned about turtles) Your Choice – If you have another idea, explain it to the teacher for permission.
