ANNOUNCEMENT: The Alice Springs Motorcycle Club, hereafter called the PROMOTER will conduct the Perry’s KTM Deep Well Moto X for Junior and Senior classes at the track located at the Deep Well Station on Sunday 25th January 2015. 2. JURISDICTION: 2.1. The abovementioned meeting has been authorised by Motorcycling Australia Northern Territory which has issued the Motorcycling Australia Permit Number 003/15 and is open to holders of current Motorcycling Australia National Licences. 2.2. The meeting will be held in accordance with the current General Competition Rules (GCR’s), these Supplementary Regulations, and any final instructions approved by Motorcycling Australia Northern Territory. BY ENTERING THIS MEETING ALL PARTIES AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THESE RULES, REGULATIONS, BY- LAWS AND INSTRUCTIONS. 3. ENTRIES: 3.1 Entries open forthwith and close at scrutineering on Friday evening 23rd January 2015. 3.2. In the case of postponement or abandonment of the meeting, all or any part of the entry fee may be retained by the Alice Springs Motorcycle Club, if such retention is approved by Motorcycling Australia Northern Territory. 3.3. Only entries received on the official entry form that is accompanied by the correct fee will be accepted. 3.4. NOTE :- LATE ENTRIES MAY BE ACCEPTED AND THE RETURN OF ENTRY FEES FOR ANY RIDER WITHDRAWING FROM THE MEETING IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ALICE SPRINGS MOTORCYCLE CLUB. 4. INSURANCE: 4.1. National Personal Accident Scheme provides basic cover for death and permanent disability. 4.2. Ambulance Insurance is compulsory for licensees. 4.3. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT COMPETITORS GIVE CONSIDERATION TO TAKING OUT WEEKLY BENEFITS INSURANCE. 5. MEDICAL SERVICES: Volunteers from St Johns Ambulance will be in attendance with an ambulance. 6. ENTRY FEE: 6.1 Seniors Entry Fee - $45 Juniors Entry Fee - $30. 6.2. Payment by cash, cheque or money order only. ANY FEES FOR DISHONOURED CHEQUES WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ENTRANT. 6.3. Cheques and Money Orders are to be made payable to the Alice Springs Motorcycle Club. 7. ENTRY PASSES: Not applicable 8. CLASSES OF COMPETITION: The following classes will be run subject to rider numbers: Pro Lite Class 125cc – 200cc 2 Stroke and 0 – 250cc 4 Stroke Pro Open Class 255cc and above 2 Stroke, and 400cc and above 4 Stroke Masters Class 35 years and over, all powers Clubman Class All powers Pony Express 2 rider team, all powers Quads all powers 2 classes – riders up to 39yrs, riders 40 years and over on 20/01/2015 Junior 85cc 85cc 2 Stroke and 150cc 4 Stroke Junior 125cc Up to, 125cc 2 Stroke and 250cc 4 Stroke 9. AWARDS AND PRIZEMONEY: Rider/team points will be accumulated during the 3 round Moto X race and totalled after final round of the day, each class will be awarded a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophy. Outright prize money will be awarded. 10. ENTRIES TO CONSTITUTE A CLASS: To constitute a class, the number of contestants entered and competing in each class shall be 4 riders per class. Should there be insufficient entries in any class of competition, the decision to run or cancel the class, or to combine events and re-distribute any awards and / or prize money, will be at the discretion of the Alice Springs Motorcycle Club, subject to Motorcycling Australia Northern Territory approval. 11. MACHINES AND RIDERS: 11.1. All machines entered must comply with the current GCRs for motocross competition. 11.2. Multiple entry of the one machine in the same class of competition is not permitted. 11.3. The rider on entering the event confirms their bike is in good working order and mechanically sound. 11.4. The rider must complete the race on the machine they started on. All repairs must be completed by the competitor and outside assistance will comply with the GCRs. 12. RIDING NUMBERS: Rider numbers will be as registered by MA, or as nominated by the rider or Race Secretary at scrutineering. Riders entered in the Pony Express must have same numbers on each of their bikes. The top 5 outright senior riders from 2014 Deep Well event may choose to use numbers 1 to 5. 13. GRID POSITIONS AND STARTS: 13.1 Junior 125/250 class riders will depart before the 85cc class riders. 13.2 Senior riders will be divided into the following racing groups: Group 1: pro open, pro lite, pony express. Group 2: masters, clubman. Group 3: Quads. 13.3 Senior riders grid position for first round will be determined by peg draw. Bikes can form a second grid line 10 metres apart. For the second and third rounds, the top ten riders in order of finishing round 1 will get choice of grid position. 13.4 Starts will be by bungy cord on the front grid, engines running. The 30 and 5 second board will be displayed. Riders on the rear grid to immediately follow the first grid when the order to start is given. 14. RIDERS’ BRIEFING: 14.1 A seniors and junior riders’ briefing will be held prior to the commencement of racing on Sunday. ALL junior competitors and parents/guardians MUST attend to be eligible to compete. ALL senior competitors MUST attend this riders briefing to be eligible to compete in the race. 15. DRUG AND OR ALCOHOL TESTING: 15.1 All competitors and officials are advised that as part of the MA drug education program, drug testing may take place at any competition in accordance with Australian Sports Commission policy as implemented by the Australian Sports Drug Agency. 15.2 If any doubts exist over banned substances it is recommended competitors contact the Drugs in Sport Hotline, tel 1800 020 506. When drug testing takes place, the payment of prize money may be delayed at the discretion of Club or MANT until the results of the tests are known. 15.3 For the purposes of drug and alcohol testing, the commencement of the meeting will be deemed to be 7.00am on Sunday 25 January 2015 with the completion of the meeting for the participant being when the participant has vacated the venue. 16. CODE OF CONDUCT: All competitors, officials and parents are reminded of the Motorcycling Australia by-law - CODE OF CONDUCT (as stipulated in the GCRs), which is a guide to appropriate behaviour at all motorcycle race meetings. This CODE OF CONDUCT applies to this meeting and will be enforced. Riders, pit crew and spectators are reminded that the Alice Springs Motorcycle Club events are for families including young children. Drunk and disorderly behaviour is dangerous, disrespectful, and will not be tolerated. Out of control people will be asked to leave, enforced by police if necessary.

17. CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION: 18.1 The senior track is approximately 9 km and consists of station tracks, undulating sand whoops and dune country, narrow tracks through trees, claypans and sandy creekbeds. The track width is defined as 4 to 6 metres grader cleared and marked track. Riding outside of the defined track width could be deemed as cutting the course and subject to penalty at the discretion of the Clerk of Course. 18.2 The junior track is approximately 4.5 km and consists of station tracks, undulating sand whoops and dune country, narrow tracks through trees, claypans and sandy creekbeds. The track width is defined as 4 to 6 metres grader cleared and marked track. Riding outside of the defined track width could be deemed as cutting the course and subject to penalty at the discretion of the Clerk of Course. 18. RACING: 19.1 Riders will be given 1 sighting lap prior to the race commencing. 19.2 Riders on the start grid will be given the thirty and five second warning board prior to the start time and will commence racing when the gates drop. Racing is considered complete as each rider crosses the finish line, and given the chequered flag . 19.3 Racing format will be 3 rounds for junior and senior riders. For Junior riders it will be 5 laps of the 4.5km course, for the senior riders it will be 4 laps of the 9km course, with all riders given the chequered flag as they come through, after the front rider has completed 4 laps. Riders breaking down during the race will receive a DNF. 19.4 Racing order will be juniors first, then seniors group 1, then seniors group 2, then seniors group 3 quads. First round will be clockwise, second round will be the reverse direction anticlockwise, and third race will be clockwise again. 19.5 Whilst riding through the pit area all bikes will be in first gear and ride at walking pace. 19.6 To be a finisher, all riders must take their bike across the finish line with full riding gear still worn. 19.7 Scoring points will be allocated as per GCRs for MotoX 19.8 It is planned to score electronically with the use of transponders. 19. CAMPING: Due to fire hazard, camping at the Deep Well race track is not permitted, as requested by the station owners and race officials. 20. GST: The Goods and Services Tax affects the payment of prize money. If you do not provide an ABN or declare the sport is a hobby, the Promoter must withhold 48.5% of prize money over $50.00 which is otherwise payable to you. Please tick one of the boxes on the entry form and if appropriate provide your ABN to ensure the full amount of prize money is paid to you. 21. FUEL: Only service station bowser fuel up to 98 octane allowed to be used, with 2 strokes adding 2 stroke oil. The Clerk of Course may direct random fuel testing in accordance with GCRs at anytime. All machines must comply with GCR s. 22. SPECIAL NOTES AND WARNINGS: 23.1 Admission to the racetrack and spectator area is free. 23.2 Riders are to be aware the area surrounding the Deep Well race track is private property. All care should be taken to look after the area, tidy up and take your litter back home with you. Police may be in attendance with breathalysers and speed radars may be in operation. 23.3 There are no facilities provided at the track. Riders, pit crews and spectators are to BYO everything. January is usually very hot with temperatures reaching over 40 degrees. All riders are urged to race with hydration packs, and pit crews and spectators to provide adequate shade, cooling devices and hydration for themselves. I ACKNOWLEDGE that the sport of motorcycle racing is dangerous and that by engaging in the sport and participating in the race meeting I take and am exposed to certain risks and dangers and am under certain obligations as follows: a) that I may be injured, physically or mentally, and may be killed; b) that my machinery or equipment may be damaged, lost or destroyed; c) that other competitors may ride dangerously or with lack of skill; d) that track or event conditions may be hazardous and may vary without warning or predictability; e) that the organisers, officials, landowners/track operators and any agent or representatives of those in charge of race meetings are frequently obliged to make decisions under pressure of time and/or events; f) that any policy of insurance of or in respect of my life or physical or mental health may be avoided; g) that there may be no or inadequate facilities for treatment or transport of me if I am injured; h) that by entering the event my machine is in good working order; i) that I have an obligation to myself and others to compete safely and within the rules of competition.
