New Security Feature We have a new security feature that we’re very excited to share with you. WCPSS has installed a front door camera that will allow us to keep all the front doors locked during the day. When arriving at the front door, look to the far right near the handicapped button. Ring the bell for access, and we’ll be able to see you on the camera and buzz you in. You’ll hear the door “click” as it unlocks. The handicapped button will NOT work until you have received access, and we unlock the door. STARTING DECEMBER 1 st , THE FRONT DOORS WILL BE KEPT LOCKED.
Thanksgiving Service Project Students from Mrs. Ford's, Mrs. Barefoot's and Mrs. Turner's classes collected items for the Ronald McDonald House in Chapel Hill. Items collected were toiletries, coloring books, stuffed animals, books, crayons, colored pencils, play dough and food. They are ALWAYS so appreciative of children helping other children at such a difficult time, when they cannot be home for Thanksgiving.
LACY’S GIVING TREE The Community Outreach Committee will be setting up Lacy's Giving Tree on or around Thursday, December 1. Each ornament on the tree will represent a child from our Lacy school community who will receive an outfit and a requested toy or item. If you are able to help a child, please take an ornament from the Giving Tree located in the lobby. Be sure to complete the signup sheet and take the instructions. We ask that only adults take an ornament. The gifts should be unwrapped and returned to the school Tuesday, December 13th (note date change) in the morning carpool lane by the loop at the trailers. All gifts should be dropped off with the ornament solidly attached to the bag. If you are interested in your child receiving gifts, please fill out the form you received in the Wednesday folder as soon as possible. If you have questions about donating, please contact one of the Community Outreach committee chairs: Morgan Ford ([email protected]) or Kacey Ragsdale ([email protected]).
Chick-fil-A Spirit Night – 12/13/16 Tired of turkey? Then EAT MORE CHICKEN!! Join us Tuesday, December 13, from 5:00 - 7:00 for our monthly Chick-fil-A Spirit Night. Invite your friends, family and neighbors to come out and support our school! We will have the Chick-fil-A cow in the morning and afternoon carpools on Tuesday as a friendly reminder. STEP Tutoring We are well on our way with our STEP Tutoring at Lacy! However, we have more needs! The following times would be great if you find you can assist once a week for 30 or 45 minutes! Our biggest need is from 2:00-2:45; however other times available are 8:15-8:45, 8:30-9:00, 9-9:30, 10:45-11:30. Please call the front office (881-4920) to speak with Tish Hamilton or send me an email to [email protected].
Wednesday Words Needs You! We know how helpful it is to get our Lacy Wednesday Words every week. Now, you can help make that happen! Sign up for a Tuesday shift copying and distributing Wednesday Words to the teachers. It only takes around a half hour around lunchtime or before pick-up, and you can sign up for as many Tuesday shifts as work in your schedule. Visit the Wednesday Words Hub in MemberHub (https://lacy.memberhub.com/hubs/8430) and look for the Spring 2017 sign-up form under Signups in the left-hand navigation bar. Thanks for your help, and contact Chair Tracy Wallingford at 512-970-2395 with any questions.
