Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences

This document contains the summary of results from various assessment activities for the 2015-2016 academic year in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program. These aggregate results will be reported to the College as part of Strategic Plan reporting as well as to the University’s assessment office as part of their annual assessment reporting of degree programs required by SACS. The summary document was created in an effort to provide a snapshot of aggregate student performance for each academic year and to assist in monitoring student learning outcomes and curricular aspects of the graduate program. For reference, the student learning outcomes document is located at the end of this document as appendix A.

University of Kentucky | Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program 2012-2013 Assessment Summary Research Rotations (mapped to outcomes 2, 3, 4): Ten (10) first-year students participated in a total of fourteen (14) research rotations. Twelve of the fourteen (86%) rotations were assessed as meeting the quality of research work expected from a first year student. (Criterion: spirit of inquiry, collaboration, timeliness, and work ability; Scale: outstanding (4), satisfactory (3), needs improvement(2), unsatisfactory(1)).

Seminar Performance (mapped to outcomes 2, 5, 6): Twenty-eight seminar performance evaluations were completed for students in semesters 2 – 9. Rubric Scale: outstanding (4), satisfactory (3), needs improvement (2), unsatisfactory (1)

Mission Statement: The mission of the Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences is to provide a multidisciplinary program designed to prepare motivated individuals for academic, industrial, or government careers in pharmaceutical and biomedical research.
