Job Title: Candidate Liaison Manager
Responsible to: Head of Training, Development and Community Organising
Location: Labour Party Head Office - London
Key Purpose: To manage the Labour Party’s relationship, communications, support and training with our Parliamentary Candidates.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. To be the first point of contact for our Parliamentary Candidates and to respond to them in a helpful, timely and professional manner
2. To play a leading role in designing training and support for our Parliamentary Candidates
3. To manage and deliver the national Party’s Parliamentary Candidates’ support & training programme
4. Working with Head Office teams, Regional Directors, RCOs, PLP and political teams, to coordinate and ensure a holistic approach to Candidate support
5. To manage any administrative and volunteer support given to the Candidate Liaison team
6. To advise on new areas and subjects for training and support
7. To ensure the latest briefings, messaging or campaigning objectives are disseminated to Parliamentary Candidates and follow up support offered
8. To provide advice and support to Regional teams for their candidate training
9. To work within the wider training team and support our team objectives
10. To work on parliamentary by-elections where required
11. To carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Head of Training, Development and Community Organising or the Executive Director – Elections & Stakeholders.

The post holder will be expected to work in a flexible way as part of a team, and to work effectively and closely with other party units inside and outside Head Office.

Candidate Liaison Manager
Knowledge Essential
A thorough knowledge of Labour Party campaigning, including Voter ID, GOTV, targeting strategies, messaging and relationship building with members and voters
A working knowledge of computer database systems or a sufficient level of computer literacy to demonstrate an ability to learn quickly
Good knowledge of election law and the electoral system
A sound knowledge of the Labour Party structure and organisation
An understanding of how effective training helps and supports us as a grassroots organisation
Experience Essential
A proven track record of campaigning in the Labour Party or other organisations
Experience organising and leading training
Experience building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Skills Essential
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Good presentation skills
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
