World History: Story Book Project – Rubric

1. In this project you must include:

a. Cover page & Title for project – one sheet of paper

 Title of your story relates to where your group time traveled

 All the names/group members is clearly written on the outside cover with assigned role

 Name 1 – story writer

 Name 2 – Timeline creator

 Name 3 – Art/Visuals/Illustrations

 Name 4 – Song Translator

b. Class Period clearly seen on cover page

2. Format

a. Minimum 5 sheets of paper stapled together – more is recommended

 EACH SHEET OF PAPER MUST HAVE THE NAME OF THE PERSON WHO CREATED IT ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER OF THE PAGE

b. Story writer : on her/his sheet[s] of paper

 General Information - Writes a story of a group of students who use their cell phones to time travels to 5 specific dates and places

 Specific Information – writes the story in a dialogue format, all persons in the group must be discussing what they are seeing, hearing, feelings, and understanding about what is happening

 Test information and word wall terms must be mentioned in the conversations

c. Timeline Creator: on his/her sheet[s] of paper

 Chooses 5 specific dates – B.C. and/or A.D. – that the group travels to.

 Writes beside each date 5 Ws notes – who, what, when, where, why

 Using the same 5 dates, briefly writes – 1 to 2 sentences – about 5 other places she/he traveled to: Africa, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and/or Russia

d. Art/Visuals/Illustrations: on his/her sheet[s] of paper

 Draws, prints and pastes, cuts and pastes images of people, buildings, rivers and/or other geographic features of the places the group time travels to

 Underneath or beside each art/visual/illustration a caption must be written that explains what the image is all about e. Song Translator : on her/his sheet[s] of paper

 Writes the name of the song and singer/group

 Writes new lyrics that replaces the original lyrics of the song

 New lyrics must be related to the place the group time traveled to.

 New lyrics must contain test information and/or word wall terms and use them correctly

Quality – 70 points  Follows format completely, mostly, adequately, inadequately 65 points  Demonstrates creativity, thoroughness, competence, incompetence 60 points 50 or less Quantity – 30 points  Contains abundant, essentially, satisfactory, unsatisfactory test 25 points information or word wall terms information 20 points 10 or less
