AMCOS “control” account extract An extract of all foreign works that have been allocated to the AMCOS control account is posted on the Publisher Resources page of the APRA|AMCOS website after each quarterly AMCOS distribution. The extract lists works with shares remaining in control from the quarter prior to the latest AMCOS distribution or earlier. Only AMCOS members have access to the AMCOS control account extract (CWE/CWO record types). Files are ASCII encoded, with tab-delimited fields and carriage-return record terminators. 1. Record Layouts Record layouts are specified in tables with the following columns: Heading Description # The number of the item within the record layout. References to individual fields will be prefixed with the corresponding record type (e.g. the 3rd field in a New Production Work is referred to as NPW-3). Contents A brief description of the field’s content Req. This indicates the requirement for the field to contain data, and will be one of: M (mandatory), O (optional), C (conditional; the conditions will be stated in the “description” column). Optional fields in download layouts indicate that the data will appear if it was provided as input. Size Shows the maximum size of the variable-length data within the field. Where a number has decimal places, the width and accuracy are shown (e.g. nn.nnnn has a width of 7 bytes: 2 significant digits, a decimal point, and accuracy to four places, for a value range 00.0000 – 99.9999). Type Indicates the type of data; one of:  A: Alphabetic (A-Z, space)  N: Numeric (0-9, plus decimal point as required)  AN: Alphanumeric (full range of characters – see A-15)  D: Date, in the format yyyy/mm/dd only.  Lit: Literal, value must be as stated in the “Description” column  B: Boolean: only “Y” (yes) and “N” (no) allowed  $: An amount, in dollars and cents (no decimals of cents, no $-sign) Description Briefly describes the field contents and shows any validation requirements.
