Literacy Connection

Literacy Connection Young children make many connections to our world through language and books. We first explored that with songs and finger plays. A new mom-to-be is expecting her 1st baby and you want to give her a list of books that she can read to her new baby for years to come, you know how important language development is from ECE class. Directions: Create a list of books for ages Infant, Toddler, Preschool, School Age. Include the author, title, picture of the book and short summary (without giving away the ending) of each book, and include your own personal review, giving each book STARS. 4 Books per age group (16 TOTAL) and you must include 3 books that have been recently written copyright 2015. Set up a Google Doc as follows. I did one example in the preschool section.

Infant 4 books with AUTHOR, TITLE, DESCRIPTION, COVER PICTURE, AND RATING

Toddler 4 books with AUTHOR, TITLE, DESCRIPTION, COVER PICTURE, AND RATING

Preschool 4 books with AUTHOR, TITLE, DESCRIPTION, COVER PICTURE, AND RATING

Example: Martin, Bill. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. This story allows children to learn their alphabet in a very fun way. It motivates them with their catchy tunes they have in the book and their learning all at the same time.

***Learning the alphabet has never been more fun!***
