Personal Information

I enjoy the opportunity to take on new challenges as I believe it allows me to learn new important skills. I have a strong passion for working at sea as I have a naval family serving in both the Merchant Navy and the Royal Navy. I have worked in a voluntary capacity with One Vision Housing and also at Bay TV and also in paid work for two different shops. Both areas of work helped me gain more experience in team working and communication. I am very hard working and trust worthy with a willing to learn. My time keeping and attendance is of a high standard. Since a young age I have played tennis and play in both Liverpool and Southport leagues for Maghull tennis club. I have sailed throughout many years in different size craft and thoroughly enjoy this past time hobby. In high school I completed my Duke of Edenborough certificate to a silver level. I have been a member of the Air Cadets for over a year, and before this the scouts. I am self-motivated, committed and determined in achieving my goals. I have demonstrated my organisational skills, a sense of responsibility and capacity to work under pressure through my current and previous roles as well as my college work. I am also able to relate to a wide range of people, as proven by my previous work experience. My current role in retail requires using a computerised till system and working accurately.

Work

One Vision Housing: I worked between several departments however mainly within the HR and finance departments. I enjoyed this role as I was able to assist with various customer complaints and concerns on a daily basis as well as leaning how to team work on a wider range.

Bay TV: In this role I was able to assist in many different roles such as operating videos, taking still camera work and interviewing the general public and small businesses on current affairs.

Sefton Meadows Garden Centre: At this role I was involved in many different areas throughout the shop from operating the till to shop to shop maintenance which could involve anything from constructing new sections within the shop to general up keep of the grounds. I worked here for a year and came away with many new skills that will help me in future job roles.

Skills Team working: I enjoy working in both team environments and independently and have much experience do so in both sections.

Customer service: I am customer focused and enjoy the day to day variants. I believe I have learnt how to identify when a customer requires assistance and when they wish to shop alone.

Computerised till system: Proficient on computerised till systems in many different forms and pick up their running’s very quick.

Communication: My skills have developed during my past and present posts whilst working with management, staff and the public.

Organisational skills: Whilst studying and working I have developed my organisational skills. Ensuring work assignments were delivered as well as being available for work as and when required.
