Name: Class: Date: EarthKam Plate Boundary Project For this project you may chose to work alone, or with one other person. You will create a Google Slideshow for your work that should be shared immediately with me, as well are your partner (if you are working with one). Everyone should have the ability to edit the document. All work will be done using Google Classroom. The following information must be in your presentation: Slide One: Title (EarthKam Project), name, class and date Slide Two: The EarthKam photo you are using for your project with the following: o Location – be as specific as possible o Image number o GMT o Orbit number o Latitude and Longitude Additional Slides: ● The names of the tectonic plates that are involved in your plate boundary ● The type of boundary that it is ● What types of crust are involved ● What physical features are usually found at that type of boundary ● Physical features in your photo (names of specific mountains, rivers, etc. if possible) ● How these physical features formed (based on your research and what you have learned about plate tectonics) ● URLs for all sites you used in your research and for all pictures and graphics used You may also include some of the following (the more information the better!) ● A plate boundary map that shows your plate boundary and the direction of movement of the plates (you may add the arrows yourself) ● A Google Earth map of the area (use the latitude and longitude to obtain this) ● Any graphics that they find that can help explain how the features in your photo formed, or how the plates are moving at that type of boundary. You should be working on your slides when you have the opportunity at school and at home, especially on the nights when you do not have other science homework. Schedule and due date: ● Students will work in school in the computer lab: Monday, Tuesday, and either Wednesday or Thursday. ● Project is due November 23rd.
