Job Title: Sports Administration Officer Objectives:

Working in close consultation with the Sport and Recreation Manager, the Sports Administration Officer will provide administrative and organisational support across each of the program areas delivered by the Sport and Recreation Division.

The Sports Administration Officer will work with Sport and Recreation Development Officers from within the Division to develop more co-ordinated, consistent and improved administration systems and procedures.

How duties relate to:

 The aim of the organisation is to provide a high quality programs/activities to meet members needs.  The position plays an important role as a part of the management of the organisation

Task and Activities: SPORT AND RECREATION DIVISION SUPPORT

 Work with Sport and Recreation Division staff to develop more co-ordinated, consistent and improved administration systems and procedures.  Provide administrative support to the Sport and Recreation Manager where necessary.

COMPETITION PROGRAM

 Co-ordinate team and/or participant registrations for the Organised Sport Program at the beginning of each semester.  Collate competition results and update team point scores for both the Organised Sport and TAFE Sport Programs on a weekly basis during competition periods.  Provide additional administrative support where required to enable the Competition Program to achieve the stated goals and objectives, including the purchase of sports equipment, contracting first aid services,

CLUBS / INTERVARSITY PROGRAM

 To develop and foster a positive and supportive relationship with club executives / members and TAFE Students.  Co-ordinate the management of club membership records, including biannual updates and analysis of club data to ensure compliance with TAFE SPORT Regulations.  Promote and co-ordinate the use of the TAFE Administration Centre.  Co-ordinate the preparation of Sport and Recreation Division Reports, including monthly Division Overview.  Develop and circulate a monthly TAFE Newsletter that is both current and relevant to all stakeholders of the TAFE Sector.  In consultation with the Sports Development Officer (Clubs / Intervarsity), assist with the administration of representative teams and individual athletes to Intervarsity sporting competitions.

 No direct supervision of full time staff is required.

INTERACTIONS

 Develop and foster a relationship with TAFE executives, TAFE students and TAFE SPORT staff to promote TAFE SPORT, its assistance to clubs, programs and activities.  Interact with the Finance Unit to ensure that appropriate accountabilities and financial controls are implemented and adhered.  Interact with the Recreation and Events Officer, Organised Sport Co-ordinator, College Sport Co-ordinator and Venues Liaison Officer to ensure that appropriate systems and processes are implemented to provide equity and access to TAFE SPORT facilities, events, programs for clubs and other internal stakeholders.  Liase with TAFE QLD and other TAFE members to ensure communication of intervarsity sport activities and responsibilities.

Conditions:

 Full time position: 36 hours a week.  Some week-end required pay in lieu.  Salary: $32,000 p.a.+ superannuation.  Types of leave -sick; standard provision for leaves.  Continuity of the position depend on Government Funding.
