2017 MEDIA CREDENTIAL REGISTRATION FORM

● All media requesting press passes to events must pre-register via email. There will be no walk-up on-site registrations—you can still attend and/or cover the Festival without credentials as an attendee of the festival. Credentials are for the Saturday’s Children’s Day and Sunday’s Festival events only. For Bookend events, you must contact the individual venues hosting those events.

● Media credential requests must be submitted via e-mail by 5:00 PM, Wednesday, September 13, 2017.

● All credentials must be picked up at the designated media credentialing table. Proper photo identification is required (see below for details).

● Credentials are reserved for working/assigned editorial staff of print, broadcast and online media. Credentialing requirements are listed below.

● Credentials will be awarded with priority based on previous year’s coverage as well as advance publicity and planned coverage of the 2017 Brooklyn Book Festival.

Media Check-In

On Festival Day (Sept. 17) all credentialed media should check in at the media table on the ground floor of Brooklyn Borough Hall (209 Joralemon Street) between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Media for Children’s Day (September 16) should check in at the BKBF Booth in MetroTech Commons. Media kits will be provided.

Author Interviews

Requests for day-of-event author interviews should be made prior to the Festival by contacting Brooklyn Book Festival publicity. Interviews are subject to author approval and availability; it may not be possible to schedule interviews the day of the event.

Filming and Photography

All requests for videotaping and photography must be submitted to Book Festival by September 13. Videotaping of an entire panel session must be authorized in advance by Book Festival staff. Panel participants reserve the right to approve/refuse videotaping during panel sessions. Click here for photos and official festival logos and images.

Panel Session Admission and Seating

All seating is first-come, first-serve. Media are encouraged to arrive early as seats are limited.

Media Access

Media are not permitted inside the author holding areas/green rooms.

Media Room

A media room will be available for pre-arranged interviews in a quiet space and for other assignment-related purposes. However, no phone/fax/internet services will be provided. If you will require use of the media room, advise festival publicity contact in advance so your request can be considered.

Media Parking/Remote Broadcasts/Satellite Trucks

Please contact Brooklyn Book Festival staff for information on live broadcasts/satellite vehicles. Space is extremely limited and parking rules around Brooklyn Borough Hall are strictly enforced. Media are responsible for their own parking. Use of mass transit is strongly encouraged. There will be no vehicles (e.g. sat trucks) or cabling permitted on Borough Hall Plaza unless previously approved by Book Festival staff.
