BRAMPTON VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE MONTHLY EXECUTIVE MEETING NOVEMBER 23/09

Agenda Item 1-Indru

Beach/Chinguacousy Park Plan update

-beach courts will be closed summer 2010 for improvements at Chinguacousy so all courts will be relocated within the park

-concerns were raised regarding lighting for the courts and parking for team members

- the possibility of an alternate site was also discussed

Agenda Item 2- Jamie

Treasurer-review financials, outstanding issues i.e. performance bonds?

-financials for September 1 to present are complete and looking good

-prize costs are under control but referee costs are rising

-tracking information for pick up volleyball players and revenues has not been submitted yet

-2 performance bonds outstanding due to mailing address issues

-a performance bond deduction notice will be sent to teams that did not have a representative at the captain’s meeting

- Request for updated statements to be presented at each executive meeting

- Jack, Jamie, Anthony to obtain quotes for audit services prior to the next meeting

Agenda Item 3- Chris

Open Gyms-revenue tracking, waiver process

-no report submitted yet

-tracking for pick up volleyball has fallen behind over the past two seasons -report and process to be identified by the end of the week

Agenda Item 4-Indru

Clinics

-first clinic will be held Friday January 22 at Chinguacousy or Notre Dame Secondary

-discussion regarding format to be followed

-3 coaches, details to follow

Agenda Item 5-Indru

New net rule

-Concern e-mailed by member(s) regarding new net rule – dangerous and difficult for referees to call

-only issue experienced by those in attendance is that players appear confused and are making their own net calls using the previous rule

-Jack expressed that some referees had asked for clarification

-Chris to post the FIVB youtube video link on our website and will also post a note soliciting feedback from the members

Social-status?

-restaurants were approached regarding BVL social night but are unable to accommodate us due to our large number of members

-we are still considering other venues

-difficulties with “forum” page on the web may be due to computer issues (Mac)
