Sections 230210, 230220, 11230240, 230510, 230511, 230533, 230593, 230596, and 230924, must be reviewed for compliance with the 12requirements of this section. 13 14 15QUALITY ASSURANCE 16 17Test and rate baseboard and finned tube radiation in accordance with I=B=R, provide published ratings bearing 18emblem of I=B=R. 19 20 21SUBMITTALS 22 23General: Submittals shall demonstrate compliance with technical requirements by reference to each subsection of 24this specification. Where a submitted item does not comply fully with each and every requirement of the 25Specifications, the submittal shall clearly indicate such deviations. Identification requirements for non-complying 26features of items are very specific. See Section 230210 for exact requirements. 27 28Manufacturer's Data: Submit manufacturer's specifications for terminal units showing dimensions, capacities, ratings, 29performance characteristics, gages and finishes of materials, and installation instructions. 30 31 32 PART 2 - PRODUCTS 33 34 35BASEBOARD RADIATION 36 37General: Provide baseboard radiation of lengths and in locations as indicated, and of capacities, style, and having 38accessories as scheduled. 39 40Cabinets: Minimum 20-ga cold-rolled steel, one-piece back and top panel, front panel with integral damper. Provide 41steel brackets inserted in back/top panel, to support element and front panel. Provide baked enamel finish. 42 43Elements: Copper tube and aluminum fins, with slide mechanism between element and support brackets to eliminate 44expansion and contraction noises. 45 46Accessories: Provide the following accessories: 47 48 Blank end caps 49 50 End caps with hinged access panel 51 52 Trim strips 53 54 55FINNED TUBE RADIATION 56 57General: Provide finned tube radiation of lengths and in locations as indicated, and of capacities, style, and having 58accessories as scheduled. 59 60Cabinets: Minimum 18-ga cold-rolled steel full backplate, minimum 16-ga front. Brace and reinforce front minimum 61of 4'-0" o.c. without visible fasteners. 1 GUIDE SPECIFICATION SECTION 238229- 2 2Revised 16 February 2016 Hydronic Radiation 3 4 1 2Elements: Copper tube and aluminum fins, with tube mechanically expanded into fin collars to eliminate noise and 3ensure durability and performance at scheduled ratings. 4Finish: Flat black heat resisting paint for backplate, factory- finished baked enamel, standard colors, on fronts and 5accessories. 6 7Accessories: 8 9 End panels, inside and outside corners, and enclosure extensions 10 11 Access panels in front of valves, balancing cocks, and traps 12 13 Factory-mounted dampers 14 15 Sill extensions 16 17 Mullion channels 18 19 Pilaster covers 20 21 22 PART 3 - EXECUTION 23 24 25INSTALLATION OF BASEBOARD RADIATION 26 27Install baseboard radiation as indicated, and in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions. 28 29Locate baseboard radiation on outside walls as indicated, run cover continuous wall-to-wall unless otherwise 30indicated. 31 32Center elements under windows. Where multiple windows occur over units, divide element into equal segments 33centered under each window. 34 35Install end caps where units butt against walls. Install access panels centered in front of each shutoff valve, 36balancing cock, or temperature control valve. 37 38 39INSTALLATION OF FINNED TUBE RADIATION 40 41Install finned tube radiation as indicated, and in accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions. 42 43Locate finned tube radiation on outside walls as indicated, run cover wall-to-wall unless otherwise indicated. 44 45Center elements under windows. Where multiple windows occur over units, divide element into equal segments 46centered under each window. 47 48Install end caps where units butt against walls.
