Bid Package 31A – Mass Excavation & Site Demo

The successful Subcontractor acknowledges and agrees to the requirements set forth by this bid package and its descriptions and in conjunction with all other Construction Documents, as required to provide, furnish, install, and/or maintain all items necessary for a complete scope of work as listed below. The scope of work shall be inclusive of, but not limited to the following specifications, information, and requirements:

I) Specifications a) Division 0 Bid Requirements b) Division 1 General Requirements c) 024119 Selective Demolition d) 31 1000 Site Clearing e) 31 2000 Earth Moving

The successful Subcontractor is responsible for all specification Divisions and Sections included within the Construction Documents as required to provide a complete scope of work for this project. The individual Divisions and Sections listed above are provided as a courtesy only.

II) Scope Specific Items: 1) Extra mobilizations (potentially four) to perform Mass Excavation and Site Demolition on each of the Project’s four quadrants to accommodate coordination with site logistics and the City of Evansville’s Streetscape and Utility project. Final scheduling to be determined after award and upon coordination meeting with Skanska and the City of Evansville. 2) Clearing, grubbing, topsoil removal and off-site disposal of trees, vegetation and other materials to be removed. 3) Site demolition, including concrete and asphalt pavements, curbs, walks, light pole bases, bollards, fencing, etc. Asphalt pavement to be hauled to a facility for recycled use. Documentation is required as verification. Milling of existing asphalt to be overlaid will be by BP32C – Hot Mix Asphalt Paving subcontractor. 4) Site demolition to additionally include removal of utility structures within the four quadrant project boundaries indicated as being taken out of active service. Proper backfill of removed structures to be included. 5) Removal of known foundations within the four quadrant project boundaries (excluding radio station structure); unforeseen conditions will be addressed on an individual basis. 6) Topsoil as required. 7) Excavation, grading, compaction, borrowed fill and hauling off. 8) Sub-grade preparation, compaction and proof rolling for building pad, site hardscape features and asphalt paving. 9) Stockpiling on site in designated locations of all excess select fill materials as directed by Skanska. 10) Tree protection. 11) Erosion control systems, including maintenance for duration of project. 12) Rework, tie-ins, demolition and capping of existing utilities as required.

Bid Package 31A – Mass Excavation and Site Demolition Initials: ______Date: ______13) Cutting, patching and repairs required for existing roadways/paving/walks disturbed. 14) Excavation, trenching, sheeting, shoring, underpinning, bracing, etc. as required. 15) Soil stabilization and treatment necessary for this work. 16) Final fine grading as required. 17) Excavation as necessary and backfill of this work to final sub-grade elevations. 18) Saw cutting as necessary for this work. 19) Traffic control and barricades to complete your work. 20) Layout and engineering as required for work in this bid package. Provide two sets of reference coordinates and a datum bench of a permanent nature as directed by Skanska. 21) As-built topographical survey upon completion of the work performed and certified by a licensed surveyor. Include building location, utility lines, and hardscape on survey. 22) Off-site disposal of materials shall be done in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. 23) Establish, protect and maintain all excavations and slopes to provide a safe work area and as otherwise required by State, Local and Federal regulations. 24) Dewatering as required. 25) All Right-of-Way Bonds, etc. as required by City, County and State or other agencies relative to this Bid Package. 26) Permits and compliance required by governing authorities, including but not limited to: storm water management, NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System).
