BEM Toolbox version 2.8a Release Notes. (October 2008) The changes from BEM Toolbox version 2.7 to 2.8 are principally to add multi- language support to the Toolbox program together with the new Class Codes to allow “drop one rider after the motos” finals for single gate classes run under scrambled moto rules. Note that in this release, only the Latvian translations have been done by a real person (thanks Janis). French translations were done using the web translation tool Word Lingo and are still to be sanity checked. So if you are a dedicated BMX person with French language skills, I would be very pleased to hear from you.

Changes from version 2.7 to 2.8.  Added the new Class Codes EXPT-F, INV-F, and EXPTCONS-F to the event configuration tools. (introduced in BEM 2K.03a).  Converted all embedded text to be read from a text phrase file to allow multi language versions of the Toolbox.  Added a Generic association selection for use by associations where there is no specific Toolbox function to mediate data from an association member database or web based on-line entries.  When doing an event to event copy including results, start reaction times are now also copied. (introduced in BEM 2K.04).  Corrected a problem where the wrong file type was pre-selected when updating a List file from a Series file.  For Australia, updated the reference file to include new licence type ACF and revised the list of Clubs for alignment with the CA iMIS database.  Fixed incorrect labelling of some filter selections when other that Australia was selected as the association.  Minor layout changes to accommodate translated text that is longer than the English.

Implementation. Unzip the distribution toolbox file and extract all files to a new folder. As before, the Toolbox is run from the BEM_Toolbox.xls file. There are no new data fields in the list file format from version 2.8, however if you are updating to version 2.8 from a version earlier than 2.5, then please refer to the Release Notes for Toolbox version 2.5 for details of the additional mandatory data fields in the list file.
