Dear Parent/Guardian,

The Jefferson Township Middle School cordially invites you to attend our “Back to School Night” event scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. The evening activities will begin promptly in your child’s first period classroom. During this time, and throughout the evening, you will be provided with condensed presentations by teachers outlining a variety of topics including subject specific academic programs, curriculum, grade level procedures and student supports as well as classwork and homework expectations. In addition, Back to School Night affords you the opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and support staff members such as child-study team and guidance personnel.

Please understand that the Back to School Night schedule is tight and opportunities for you to discuss individual student matters and concerns with teachers will not be possible. At any time, however, you are welcome to contact our guidance department to set up an appointment with your child’s counselor or teacher(s) to ensure your concerns are addressed. Also, please refrain from bringing children to Back to School Night as classroom space is limited. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in these matters.

In order to maximize your time within the classrooms, please be advised, there will be no general parent meeting in the cafeteria. Instead, you will report directly to your child’s first period class. Please use the schedule on the reverse side of this letter to outline your child’s classes in a format that is clear to you. Please note that during your child’s Lunch/Flex period (Periods 4, 5 or 6) there will be a reception in the Media Center, hosted by our MSPTA as well as a brief presentation. During this time, I encourage you to meet me and other members of our administrative team including assistant principals and department level supervisors. Please be sure to stop by and introduce yourselves to us as we look forward to meeting you at this time!

Parking will be available at the Middle School and High School. If parking at the HS, please know that you may enter the HS and walk through the hallways to the Middle School. High School Student Peer Leaders will be available throughout the hallways to assist you in your travels.

I trust you will have an informative and enjoyable evening at the Jefferson Middle School. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September 27th.

Sincerely, Kelly J. Cooke Kelly J. Cooke, D.Ed. Jefferson Township Middle School Back to School Night Event September 27, 2017
