Introductions
Good (evening/morning/afternoon), and welcome to the ceremony that will unite (Groom) and ( Bride ) in marriage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We gather here today to celebrate their union, and to honor their commitment to not just gazing at one another, but to looking outward together in the same direction. Today (Groom) and ( Bride ) proclaim their love to the world, and we rejoice with and for them. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good Evening, we meet in this beautiful place to celebrate the union of two hearts that have stood the test of time and undergone the trials and tribulations of the world together. Your willingness and joy to be in this sacred space for uniting in marriage reflects the richness of life that is deepening between you
During this ceremony you will be affirming the love you share through the spoken word. But remember that words only speak of the intent of the heart. True love must be demonstrated by true commitment and finally fulfilled by action, as you are so doing in this very moment.
There are no obligations on earth more sweet or tender than those you are about to assume. There are no vows more solemn than those you are about to make. There is no human institution more sacred than that of the home you are about to form. True marriage is the holiest of all earthly relationships. It should be entered into reverently, thoughtfully and with full understanding of its sacred and eternal nature. The state of matrimony is true marriage only when based on this deep, invisible union of two souls who seek to find completion in one another.
Today your separate lives with their individual memories, desires, and hopes merge into one. You will bring to this new life, each for the sake of the other, the best that you have in you.

Today is a celebration of love, of commitment, of friendship, of family, and of two people who are in it forever.
You don’t have to have a ceremony to have a marriage, so why do we do it? The marriage ceremony has been an important feature across nearly every culture, religion, generation, and society.
We have thousands of important moments that happen throughout our lives, but this is regarded as one so critical, we acknowledge its special status by sharing it with others. Why this moment? Because despite all of our differences, love is what we all share. It’s the great unifier of our one universal truth. That no matter who we are, where we’ve come from, what we believe, we know this one thing: love is what we’re doing right.
This is why you are both standing here. This is why you all are here to watch them stand up here on this very special day. We have all loved in our lifetimes, and in this moment, we’re reminded that the ability to love is the very best part of our humanity.
All of us here today have our own love stories. Some are short, others long. Some are yet unwritten, while others are just getting to the good part.

Welcome friends and family. We are gathered here to unite Bride and Groom in marriage, which is held in honor among all people. We are here to celebrate Love. Love organizes our large and sometimes unpredictable world. It is the basis for the peace of family, and the peace of the people of the earth. The greatest gift bestowed upon humans is the gift of love freely given between two persons.
In marriage, two people turn to each other in search of a greater fulfillment than either can achieve alone. Marriage is a bold step, taken together, into an unknown future. It is risking who we are for the sake of who we can be. This is achieved only in giving of ourselves fully, and sharing our lives with another; only in loyalty and devotion bestowed upon another. Bride and Groom, who have stood apart, come together now, to declare their love and to be united in marriage.

Only in loyalty and devotion bestowed upon another can that which is eternal in life emerge and be known. Two among us, who have stood apart, come together now, to declare their love and to be united in marriage.

If it were possible to begin this ceremony by gathering together all the wishes of happiness for (Groom) and (Bride) from all present here… If we could gather together those precious wishes of affection and our very fondest hopes and turn them into music; we would be listening now to a most harmonious balled possible to hear. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Even though this It is not possible, just speaking of it should assure (Groom) and (Bride) that our hearts are attuned to theirs in these moments so meaningful to all of us for “what greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined together to strengthen each other in all labor, to comfort each other in all sorrow, to share with each other in all gladness.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes to the words which shall unite (Groom) and (Bride) in marriage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Should there be anyone who has cause why this couple should not be united in marriage, they must speak now or forever hold their peace. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Marriage is a supreme sharing of experience, and an adventure in the most intimate of human relationships. It is the joyous union of two people whose comradeship and mutual understanding have flowered in romance. Today (Groom) and (Bride) proclaim their love and commitment to the world, and we gather here to rejoice, with and for them, in the new life they now undertake together. . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Friends, we have come here today to witness the marriage of (Groom) and (Bride). The legal requirements of this state having been fulfilled, and the license of their marriage being present, I must ask of each party if they come of their own free will and accord. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are here to witness and celebrate the joining of two lives in marriage.
(Groom) and (Bride) have asked us to be with them in the making of this important commitment. The essence of this commitment is the taking of another person in his or her entirety as lover, companion and friend. Thus we ask that the promise and hopes of this union be realized. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dearly Beloved, we are gathered together in the sight of God, and in the face of this company to join (Groom) and (Bride) in Holy Matrimony: which is commended by Saint Paul to be honorable among all men: and therefore is not by any to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly: but reverently, discreetly, and soberly. Into this estate these two persons come now to be joined. If any one can show just cause why should not be lawfully joined together, let them now speak or forever hold their peace. Since no one condemns you, I do not as well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We are joyfully assembled here today to witness and celebrate the joining of two lives in marriage. (Groom) and (Bride) have asked us to be with them and rejoice with them in the making of this important commitment. The essence of this commitment is the taking of another person in his or her entirety as lover, companion and friend. It is therefore a decision which is not entered into lightly, but rather undertaken with great consideration and respect.
(Groom) and (Bride) have come together in the hope that the love which brought them to this union may go beyond itself into the lives of others. Yet, they know it is not easy to build a deep, personal relationship, even in marriage. Thus, we ask that the promise and hopes of this union be realized. Grant these two the patience to listen, the capacity to understand, the compassion to give comfort, and the joy to laugh and to be. Let their marriage make a home where neither person is a stranger. Let it offer illumination and growth. Let it bask in the joy of giving and in the excitement of shared discoveries. Let it be large enough to endure the darkness of things. May silence and despair never separate them; may they always return to each other. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In marriage, we give ourselves freely and generously into the hands of the one we love, and in doing so, each of us receives the love and trust of the other as our most precious gift. But even as that gift is shared by two people who are in love, it also touches the friends and family members who in various ways support and contribute to the relationship. All of you are (Groom)’s and ( Bride )’s community, and each of you has played some part in bringing them to this moment. This is why gathering as a community is such an important part of a wedding ceremony. Because (Groom) and ( Bride ) are now taking a new form as a married couple, and in this form, they become part of their community in a new way.
(Groom) and ( Bride ) we are here to remember and rejoice with you and to recount with one another that it is love that guides us on our path, and to celebrate as you begin this journey together It is in this spirit that you have come here to today to exchange these vows. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
