I. Opening and Approval of the Agenda A.) Rebecca McGee moved to remove items 1 (Introductions), 5 (NGRL Update) and 7 (Reports on Current Evaluations) since they had been covered in the Pisum CGC meeting that immediately preceded the CSFL CGC meeting. Weidong Chen seconded the motion and it passed.
II. Approve Minutes of last Meeting Moved by Rebecca McGee and seconded by Dave Ellis, motion passed
III. Summary of Status of Germplasm Removed from Agenda
IV. Current Germplasm Evaluations A.) Jinguo Huo reported on his interest and work on the faba bean for winter production B.) Clare and Weidong reported on their work on wild lentil screening. C.) George Vandemark commented on his interest in identifying new Mesorhizobium ciceri isolates and evaluating them for symbiosis with chickpea germplasm. D.) George Vandemark reported that the lentil core collection from the USDA WRPIS had been screened with markers. E.) Bonnie Furman reported on the progress toward evaluation of forages in Alaska.
V. Priority for Germplasm Evaluations and Reports on Current Efforts A.) Lentil root rots suggested by Lyndon Porter B.) Pea Enation Mosaic Virus of faba bean suggested by Jim Myers C.) Forage production of legumes was suggested by Bonnie Furman D.) Stemphylium blight for the Northern Plains was suggested by Bert Vandenberg VI. New Business Rebecca McGee nominated Bonnie Furman for Secretary. Kevin McPhee moved for unanimous consent for Bonnie Furman as Secretary for the CSFL CGC. George Vandemark seconded the motion and it passed. NOTE: Bonnie has since resigned as Secretary due to changes in professional duties.
VII. Next Meeting The next meeting would be held at the ASA meetings in Long Beach, CA in November, 2010.
VIII. Adjourn Weidong Chen moved for adjournment, Rebecca McGee seconded the motion and it passed.
