JOB TITLE: Lead Employer Development Coordinator – Apprenticeships and Traineeships

SITE: Colindale (Base) – the post holder will work across the Colindale, Ponders End & Watford Centres

REPORTS TO: Development Manager

LINE MANAGEMENT: Trainee Employer Engagement Advisor

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week (some out of hours work may be necessary to carry out the duties of this post)

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:

 To develop and manage apprenticeship employer accounts to achieve income and recruitment targets

 Develop new business with employers by supporting them to assess their training needs and the benefit of having apprentices/traineeships within their workforce

 To initiate, monitor and manage relationships with a range of employers and stakeholders, ensuring commercial viability for First Rung and high levels of customer satisfaction

 Achieve highly stretching traineeship and apprenticeship income targets

 To support the Development Manager in the implementation of the business Employer Engagement and Marketing strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. To develop and expand the organisation's client base, securing a range of new employers ranging from SMEs to large employers (non-levy and levy) and to effectively manage these key accounts 2. Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders in order to create sustainable employer partnerships 3. To engage with employers via face to face marketing, cold calling, network building and internet and other media sources to support the development of new employer business opportunities and to meet the organisation’s income targets 4. To actively source and engage with employers and to be able to consult and advise employers on how to access funding grants and incentives and maximise levy funds

Effectively communicate the benefits of traineeships and apprenticeships to employers using a variety of marketing, media and business development techniques 6. To actively generate new and repeat business from Levy paying and non-levy employers. 7. To effectively undertake research on LMI, employers’ background, KPIs and their business plans to help fully prepare for face-to-face meetings and written proposals 8. Use thorough product knowledge to inform employers of the benefits of traineeships and apprenticeships and the recruitment of young people to their business and recruit employed status apprentices to ensure income profile is met 9. Maintain strong working knowledge of audit and funding rules, incentives and government policy for apprenticeships and traineeships 10. To prepare written quotes on negotiated fees and contribution rates detailing instalment plans etc 11. To accurately complete apprenticeship sign up paperwork within a timely manner and to notify the finance and centre teams within five working days of the sign up process taking place 12. Ensure all relevant programme paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner inline with funding guidelines and internal protocols. 13. Complete thorough learner and employer requirements analysis to ensure the best possible conversation and sustainability rates. 14. To meet targets and KPI’s and where possible exceed those targets across assigned programmes. 15. To report to the Development Manager each week numbers of companies contacted and the leads generated. 16. To research and utilise LMI data and target potential sectors for growth 17. To ensure the CRM client database is effectively and accurately maintained. 18. Develop business pipeline reports to achieve annual revenue/learner starts targets and prepare weekly pipeline updates and reports 19. Maintain constant communication with Centre Managers to ensure smooth transition from securing placement or employment to start on programme 20. Ensure employers meet all appropriate health and safety requirements and complete a health and safety risk assessment for each employer. 21. Ensure to ensure new and existing employers are aware of employee recruitment, traineeship, apprenticeship and work placement services provided by First Rung and opportunities to place learners in both are maximised. 22. To organise and attend employer and vocationally specific networking activities such as breakfast meetings, focus group meetings, employer forums etc 23. Complete employer testimonials and learner success stories 24. Working to QIP targets alongside quality cycle incorporating Safeguarding, Prevent, Staff Surveys and Staff Training Plan 25. Working to external targets incorporating – Health and Safety, Matrix, IIP and OfSTED actions. 26. Undertaking other duties within First Rung at large as may be reasonably requested. 27. To treat details of employers and learners as confidential information and to share such information only with those who need to know it. 28. To ensure compliance of the Data Protection act is followed.

ABILITIES, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:  Experience in all aspects of business development activity including: sales / employer engagement, training needs assessment, sales, marketing campaigns and recruitment.  Proven experience of sales negotiations  Experience of delivering high levels of client service and satisfaction  Ability to achieve set targets and meet deadlines and KPI’s  Proficiency in IT and management information systems, including the ability to complete employer research, reports, quotes and presentations.  Full clean driving license and use of a vehicle

Desirable:  Experience of working within a Business Development or Sales role preferably business to business

QUALIFICATIONS AND FURTHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
