(Madison, Wisconsin August 9, 2012) Hyatt Place Madison/Downtown was awarded two prestigious awards this summer. For the second year in a row, they were awarded the Expedia Insiders Select Award. Last year, only two hotels in Wisconsin, including Hyatt Place Madison/Downtown, were recognized with this award. In 2012, Hyatt Place Madison/Downtown is the only hotel in Wisconsin to win the award, and made the list of the top 100 best hotels in the world, out of 130,000 hotels and resorts on Expedia! The criteria were based upon guest reviews, value, and Expedia hotel expert input. Completely independent of advertisers and partners, Expedia verifies every Guest Review by confirming the reviewer has stayed at the property within the past six months. They systematically compare hotels and resorts to nearby properties with similar star ratings and amenities in order to determine the best value for your money. Finally, they have an extensive network of hundreds of experts in top destinations worldwide, who provide their insight and firsthand knowledge of their destination's best hotels.

The second award given to Hyatt Place Madison/Downtown was the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Award. This award is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor.com. With careful consideration, only 10% of all accommodations listed on TripAdvisor.com receive this prestigious award. To qualify, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travelers on Trip Advisor.

“Winning these two awards together is truly momentous for our hotel, and a tribute to the commitment of all of our associates who work so hard to exceed the needs of our guests”, said Mark Neubauer, General Manager of Hyatt Place Madison/Downtown. He continued, “From day one as a brand-new hotel in Madison, we’ve cultivated a truly unique culture of hospitality here, making sure our staff is empowered to make the right decisions. Hyatt Place Hosts also do not wear nametags, for example, and instead introduce themselves personally. Therefore, our guests are treated like family and that is what makes the difference in today’s fast-paced world”.
