OKLAHOMA PARTNERSHIP FOR SCHOOL READINESS Community Mobilization Committee Meeting Minutes May 3, 2012 Smart Start Oklahoma Conference Room

Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Nina Gonzales at 11:42 a.m.

Members Present Paula Koos, Nina Gonzales, Chester Hawkins

Members Not Present Kathy Cronemiller and Marcia Brueggen

Staff Present Debra Andersen, Stephanie Mendenhall, Stacy Frakes

Approval of Minutes Nina Gonzales asked the members to review the minutes from the February meeting since quorum was not met and approve the meeting minutes from the November 8, 2011 meeting, and for any corrections or additions.

Nina Gonzales made a motion to approve the November, 2011 minutes. Chester Hawkins seconded the motion. All present voted in the affirmative and the motion passed.

Review of Smart Start Oklahoma LPF Proposals Paula Koos made a motion to go into Executive Session. Chester Hawkins seconded the motion. All votes were in the affirmative. Request was made that the following staff remain present: Debra Andersen, Stephanie Mendenhall, and Stacy Frakes.

Paula Koos made a motion to come out of executive session. Chester Hawkins seconded the motion. All votes were in the affirmative and the motion passed.

Recommendations for the Finance Committee Paula Koos made a motion that all proposals present be funded and the top 6 proposals be weighed heavier than the other 12 and the bottom 6 will be continued with a 1 year renewal and closer monitoring. Chester Hawkins seconded the motion. All votes were in the affirmative and the motion passed.

Announcements Debra Andersen announced that the Smart Start Oklahoma 2nd Annual Conference will be August 29th at the Embassy Suites in Norman, Oklahoma. The theme for this year will be “Supporting Families.” Adjournment Nina Gonzales asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting.

Paula Koos made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 2:35 p.m. Chester Hawkins seconded the motion. All present voted in the affirmative and the motion passed.
