SHOWCASE SESSION APPLICATION
2008 AOSA NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN CHARLOTTE PATSCHWERK OF POSSIBILITIES November 12-15, 2008
AOSA is offering Exhibitor Showcase Sessions during the 2008 AOSA National Conference in Charlotte. This is an opportunity to provide a valuable workshop for conference participants while also showcasing your products or services in a quiet setting away from the exhibit hall.
Time and space limitations may make it impossible to grant all applications. Those making application for a Showcase Session must have returned a contract for exhibit space at the conference. Please enclose your application form with your booth contract and exhibit deposit. AOSA allows one Showcase Session per exhibiting organization. There is no application filing fee. You will be notified about your time and room assignment by June 15. If for some reason an assignment cannot be made, you will be notified promptly.
Priority for scheduling the Showcase Sessions will be handled in the following manner: Two lists of showcase applicants will be prioritized by postal date. (List 1: Those who did not hold a showcase last year. List 2: Those who did hold a showcase last year.) A committee comprised of the Industry Representative and the NCC’s will select eight proposals from List 1 that best meet the following criteria: conference theme; relevance of topic; program balance Upon exhaustion of List 1, if there are still spaces available, List 2 will be treated in the same manner until all Showcase Sessions have been assigned.
The Showcase Session may be used by exhibitors for the following purposes: Introduction or demonstration of products and services, including instrument publication, textbook recordings, and other materials or equipment of benefit to music education Artists, clinicians, and small (10-12 person limit) demonstration groups (Full performance groups or concerts are not permitted.) Film presentations related to products, publications, or services. Other media directly relating to the teaching of music at all levels and considered a contribution to music education.
Please note: The room is not to be used for parties, open houses, or any activity not directly contributing to music education. Any functions in these rooms require the approval of the National Conference Director, the AOSA Industry Representative, and the National Conference Chair. All expenses of special set-ups, decorating, pianos, and audiovisual equipment must be the responsibility of the company using the room. Any last minute changes in set-up or equipment needs cannot be guaranteed. Equipment requests will be handled through the National Conference Director.
AOSA hopes this opportunity will help make the forthcoming 2008 AOSA National Conference more productive for all of us, and for music education. Title of Session:
