Name______Presentations begin Friday 12/09/16 Due dates: Active Reading Journal – 10/21/16* (1 page), 10/28/16, 11/04/16, 11/11/16, 11/18/16, 12/02/16* (3-pages over break) 12/09/16 (100 pts each page=1400 total) Quiz –12/10/16– Thursday (200 pts) Presentations –12/09/16-if you are not ready to go on Friday, your project will be considered late and lose 100 points from the presentation rubric I) Keep an Active Reader Notebook in which you document the following after each “session” with your book. You should have at least two (2) pages of writing per journal collection (except for 10/21 & 12/02). I will check for a grade (see dates above). If you finish your book before the due date – see me. a. Date b. Something you found exciting, interesting, scary and/or unique about what you just read, a note to a “classmate” about memorable parts, literary techniques you notice are being used, feelings, inspirations, questions?, impressions, concerns, etc… c. You can include any possible research notes and/or citations II) A 25 question quiz, with at least two short response questions. Include answers. III) Presentation -Choose one. You MUST present this portion aloud. You can have other students take part in your presentation (if they are absent the day of your presentation, it will count against you. You can make a video presentation to show for your presentation. You will need to narrate it. If you choose a video, you will not be able to modify it during your presentation. If you do a live presentation you will be able to do one “retake.” Your presentation needs to be at least 5 minutes in length. A) Power point/Prezi presentation – must be about an original work. You will only be able to earn up to a C if it is just a book report. B) Create a movie sized poster advertising the modern film version of your novel. You must choose a hook phrase and actors to play your characters. You may choose to do this on video as a trailer instead. C) Create a 3D on poster board of a world or a scene from your novel. This must include an important scene that explains the theme of the book. D) Present a speech in the persona of the main character, expressing the main character’s views on a controversial modern-day issue.

E) Create and perform a song or a music video depicting a conflict, part of the plot or the theme of your novel.

F) Create an A&E Biography style TV show that depicts the life of your character.

G) Create a comic book depicting a central conflict or scene from you novel.

H) Create a scrapbook for your central character which would reveal his/her life.

I) Create a visually appealing and detailed map of your character’s journey.

J) Create a talk show (NOT of the Springer genre), in which the characters from your novel interact with each other or with characters from other works of literature.

K) See me if you have another idea you want to try out. ------This contract is worth 200 points if turned in completed and on time. It will not be accepted for a grade after Tuesday, October 11th. Novel:
