Dear [Borrower Name(s)]:

Your Disaster-Related Forbearance Plan Is Ending Soon — Act Now You are nearing the end of the term of your disaster-related forbearance plan that provided temporary mortgage payment relief, and we would like to offer you an opportunity to enter into a long-term solution through a loan modification. A loan modification will bring your loan payments up to date and can help you stay in your home and avoid foreclosure. Other options are available; as described in Option 2 below that allow, you to leave your home without going through foreclosure.

Option 1: Stay in Your Home You’re approved for a Trial Period Plan to modify your mortgage payment (see attached). During this Trial Period Plan, you will be required to make three monthly payments in the amount of [$X,XXX] each. If you follow the terms of the attached Trial Period Plan, your loan will be permanently modified to a 40-year fixed rate loan. Please call us at [8XX-XXX-XXXX] by [DATE – 14 days from date of this letter] to confirm your participation and for directions on how to make your first Trial Period Plan payment. To stay in your home and avoid foreclosure, you must contact us right away or send us your Trial Period Plan payment to the following address. [Address where Borrowers are to remit payments] If you do not require a monthly payment reduction and prefer not to modify your mortgage loan to a 40-year fixed-rate loan, please contact us immediately to discuss two other modification options, each of which extends your loan repayment term long enough to cover the payments missed during your forbearance plan. Under these options, upon completion of the Trial Period Plan, your loan will be permanently modified and you will have a monthly mortgage payment that is similar to your current monthly payment. If you inform us that you prefer one of these modification options and you are eligible for that option, we will send you a new three-month Trial Period Plan that includes the requirements for that option. Option 2: Leave Your Home and Avoid Foreclosure If you are unable or unwilling to pay the monthly payment listed above and have decided to leave your home, you have two options to avoid foreclosure – a short sale, in which you sell your home to a third party for less than the debt you owe us, or a deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, in which you transfer ownership of your property to us. You can still avoid the emotional impacts of foreclosure, but you must contact us now. We’re here to help We want to help you. Call us today if you would like to discuss any of these options. If you do not respond by [DATE – 14 days from date of this letter], foreclosure actions on your home will continue.

Sincerely, Customer Support [Servicer Name]
