Call of Duty eSports at tOSU Constitution Last Revised: 9/30/2016 Article I: Name Call of Duty (COD) eSports club at The Ohio State University Article II: Purpose The purpose of this organization is to promote Call of Duty eSports (collegiate) at The Ohio State University, create a competitive collegiate Call of Duty team to compete on the national stage, and build a community of passionate players. Article III: Membership Section 1 General ● Follow Ohio State’s code of student conduct and non-discriminatory policy. Article IV: Qualification Section 1 Players  Must have access to a PS4 and online features  Must have prior COD competitive gaming experience ● Must be full-time Ohio State students (12 credit hours). ● At least a 2.0 GPA. ● Must have the intent of playing for the whole school year. Section 2. Coaches  Must have access to a PS4 and online gameplay  At least a 2.5 GPA for Ohio State students.  Must have the intent of coaching for the whole school year.  Must show professionalism in resolving conflicts.  Responsible for building team chemistry Section 3. Officers ● Be responsible for performing assigned duties. ● Must be full-time Ohio State students (12 credit hours). ● See Article VII. Article V: Election Section 1 Players ● Primary and Co-Primary leaders will be responsible for selecting the players for the teams. ○ Players will be chosen based on overall skill level, attitude towards the game, and cohesion with his/her peers. ● Players may be moved from one team to another after initial drafting of the team rosters. Section 2 Coaches ● Primary and Co-Primary leader will be responsible for choosing a qualified candidate to fill the role of Head Coach. ○ Head Coach will be chosen based off of game knowledge and ability to mediate and teach others. ○ Head Coach must show professionalism in resolving problems. ● Primary and Co-Primary leader will be responsible for selecting and assigning additional coaches to team. ○ Coaches should possess similar qualities as Head Coach. Section 3 Officers ● Primary and Co-Primary leader will choose individuals who are qualified and interested for each officer role. Article VI: Team Responsibilities A team will consist of 4 starting players, max of 4 substitute players, 1 coach, and 1 manager. Everyone on the team will be expected to have Call of Duty installed and up to date. Players and coaches will be required to install a voice communication service (ex. Headphones, Skype, Curse Voice, TeamSpeak, etc.) and perhaps recording software at the discretion of the club team members Section 1 Players ● Must be committed to playing with team for at least 6 hours a week. ● Must be committed to playing announced tournament games during the week and/or on weekends. ● Acknowledge what coaches and other players have to say. ● Have reliable internet connection. ● Responsible for own equipment used. ● Expected to practice individually (public match/1v1) outside of scheduled team practices. ● Must pay for own tournament entry fees and travel fees if necessary. Section 2 Coaches ● Must oversee assigned team. ● Spectate team practices at least once a week. ● Must be available to aid team during tournament matches. If unable to be present, must find a qualified replacement within 48 hours of the match. ● Have reliable internet connection. ● Responsible for own equipment used. ● Must pay for own venue fees and travel fees if necessary.

Article VII: Officers Section 1 Club Primary leader ● Communication: The importance of the club president communicating with their club members and with the club officers cannot be overemphasized. The president is the liaison between the club and other organizations. ● Evaluate coaches at the end of the season. ● Inform club members of policies, procedures, expectations, emergency procedures, and other regulations that must be followed. ● Familiarize incoming officers with club expectations. ● Submit all registration applications. ● Maintain a complete and accurate list of memberships, officers, advisor, and coaches: numbers, addresses, email addresses, etc. ● Hold regular meetings with club officers. ● Assist club treasurer in preparing the annual budget and keeping track of club financial status. ● Promote good sportsmanship. ● Have an emergency action plan. ● Ensure that safety is addressed at all club practices, competitions, or activities. ● Implement proper disciplinary action procedures when warranted. ● Assist and supervise fundraising projects. Section 2 Club Co-Primary leader ● Serve as the club representative in the absence of the president. ● Schedule facilities for practice, games, and/or special events. ● Make travel arrangements. ● Coordinate fundraising events. ● Understand club expectations. ● Make provisions for official, support personnel, equipment, and site preparation for all activities. Section 3 Club Treasurer ● Keep current financial records by documenting each expenditure and deposit. ● Make sure club funds are used properly. ● Ensure financial business is conducted in compliance with policies and procedures. ● Ensure that club members have paid event fees. ● Assist with club fund raising activities. ● Be sure all checks have both the president and the treasurer’s signatures on them. ● Have access to debit card. Section 4 Club Secretary (Head Manager) ● Keep records of all activities—document meeting minutes, game results, and promotional and marketing ventures. ● Submit activities summary to club’s Google Drive (game results, trip highlights, fundraising results, special events, etc.) ● Remind club members of upcoming meetings, events, and matches via call and/or email. Develop and maintain newsletter items (i.e. press release, web site data) ● Notify the club members of any changes in club schedule (games, trips, or practices), leadership, membership, etc. ● Create a weekly schedule that can accommodate both players and coaches. ● Contact other school team coordinators to schedule practice and/or actual matches. ● Mediate any conflicts existing between any parties within the teams. If conflict cannot be resolved, the head manager must report to President and/or Vice President. ● Act as a middleman to communicate news between officers and teams. Section 7 Club Content Creator ● Produce photos/videos to promote hype and awareness for the team(s). Section 8 Graphic Designer ● Creates images for club use. Section 9 Community Coordinator ● Plan out community events to unify the rest of the community in aspects of both competitive and casual. Section 10 Webmaster ● Maintain control of club website.

Article VIII: Meetings Section 1. Players/Coaches ● Coaches will be consulting with players in person or online at least once a week to review/advise the team. ● (Optional) Coaches may join officers during their meetings. Section 2. Officers ● Officers will meet in person or online on announced scheduled dates to discuss ways to improve the club and organizing future events. Article IX: Attendance Section 1. Players/Coaches ● Players and coaches are expected to be on time for scheduled team practices and matches. Players and coaches are required to give a 48-hour notice to the Primary Leader in the case that he/she cannot play on a scheduled time/date. Unannounced absences due to emergencies will not lead to significant penalties. Section 2. Officers ● Officers are expected to be present at scheduled meeting times. If absence is inevitable, the rest of the officers are to be notified before the meeting. Article X: Dismissal All members of the club will have a limit of two warnings before being dismissed. The first warning will not have any punishments, but the second warning will have penalties determined by the Primary and Co-Primary leader for the specific situation. The third warning will lead to suspension from the club indefinitely or for one semester depending on the situation (Primary leader will make final decision). Section 1. Players ● A player may be dismissed or moved from a team or the organization for any of the following: ○ Poor performances ○ Negative attitude ○ Violating rules ○ Not meeting 2.5 GPA requirement ○ Being suspended or expelled from The Ohio State University ○ Not cooperating with coaches and/or team ○ Excessive absences from scheduled practice and/or tournament matches. ○ Conflicts with team members ○ Being caught intoxicated during team practices and/or tournament matches Section 2. Coaches ● A coach may be dismissed from the organization for any of the following: ○ Negative attitude ○ Conflicts with team members ○ Excessive absences from weekly meetings and tournament matches ○ Failure to coordinate with the team ○ Being caught intoxicated during team discussions and/or tournament matches Section 3. Officers ● An officer may be dismissed from the organization for any of the following: ○ Being suspended or expelled from The Ohio State University ○ Negative attitude ○ Excessive absences from weekly meetings ○ Neglecting assigned responsibilities Article XI: Club Events Considering that the teams will consist of the best players at Ohio State, we ask that premade teams for tournaments hosted by the club and any other Ohio State Call of Duty affiliated organization to only consist of at max 4 Ohio State Call of Duty players. The only exception to limiting the number of Ohio State Call of Duty players on a team is when teams and players from outside of The Ohio State University are competing. To unify the community and to promote competitiveness amongst others in the community, the club will host tournaments and viewing parties. All proceeds from our events will go into club funds to support future events and the team. Article XII: Affiliations N/A Article XIII: Revisions Section 1. Constitution ● Any revisions to the constitution must pass a majority vote through the team Section 2. Club Structure ● Any additions/removals to positions/departments within the organization must be agreed upon by both the Primary and Co-Primary leaders along with the most directly affected positions/departments in the organization.
