Subject: 2014 NITSL Conference hosted by Luminant, Dallas, TX, July 14- 17

Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to announce that we will be opening the registration for our 2014 conference in the next few days! We are excited to be offering a schedule full of opportunities for our attendees to learn from each other, and use the tenants of benchmarking to help their companies drive improvements. We are part of a unique industry – one which welcomes the sharing of information so that we can all improve. I hope you all will embrace that – hopefully at this summer’s conference, though if you cannot make it, there are plenty of opportunities to participate throughout the year through survey responses and working subcommittees!

I asked our NITSL Administrator to send this message out to let you know that although we’re running a little late in getting registration open, it is just around the corner, and I promise it is worth the wait! We have so many exciting topics planned this year, I don’t know where to start… On Monday, we will have a working session focused on helping us capture Knowledge Transfer Best Practices, thanks to our friends at INPO! We’ll also be having working meetings for Cyber Security and the Infrastructure & Apps subcommittees, and offer SQA training from Richard Bender at SQE, called “Requirements Based Testing”.

We have some very special speakers on Tuesday, including: (1) Southern’s former CIO, Becky Blalock, who will share with us some of her insights from her bestseller, DARE: Straight Talk on Confidence, Courage and Career; (2) Keynote speaker Kevin Chase, CIO & CPO, SVP, Technology & Supply Chain, EFH, Luminant & TXU Energy; plus (3) NEI and INPO will give us some critical updates, and we’ll hear about Decoding Stuxnet from Kaspersky Labs!

Of course, Wednesday is devoted to our break-out sessions with the subcommittees (lots of good topics!!), and is topped off with our very important Vendor (appreciation) Night that evening.

Thursday is going to be another great day, with updates from EPRI, Westinghouse (AP1000’s), and INL. We’re expecting the NITSL business meeting to start right after lunch, and go to about 2 pm. FYI -- If you’re a member interested in running for the Executive Committee, plan to stay a little later Thursday as the first EC meeting of the year will kick off after the business meeting ends!

You will be receiving an email invitation within the next week to register for the conference. I hope you’re able to join us – it would be a pleasure to see you there!

Best regards, Theresa
