MEETING OF THE MEN OF ST. JOSEPH

Minutes of the Aug 15, 2017 Meeting

This was the regular monthly meeting of the Men of St. Joseph.

Financial Report Credit Debit Balance Starting Balance: July 9, 2017 $14,612.62  Eagle Scout Project 427.40  Misc expense 261.90  Liturgical Press 305.59 Ending Balance (Thru Aug 10) $14,472.53

Old Business

 Building Committee Report out o Modular Classrooms  The decking railing is almost complete; it should be ready for inspection by the end of the week.  Installation of the vinyl siding and rain gutters has been completed  Interiors of two of the classrooms have been painted; the last will be complete this week.  Exterior lights have been re-installed  Still to do: o Replace the one broken window o Chalking around the trim o Install the exterior vent covers o Install railing cap o Replace thermostats o Final Inspection by the township o Church  Install grills on the rear AC ducts  Complete lighting for the statues of Mary and Joseph  Complete the sacristy.

o Grotto  No Update this month.

 Eagle Scout Project o No update  Men’s Spirituality Meeting o The current subject is the gospel of St Luke, the group reviews a short video followed by discussion. o All men of the parish are welcome, the fourth Tuesday of the month, Starting at 7:00pm in the Rectory. o The next meeting is Aug 22nd.

 Parking Lot Lights o One of the parking lot lights has been converted to an LED type light. o The group agreed to fund the conversion of the remaining 7 units.

 Deb Daniels has asked for assistance in getting a 100lb propane tank refilled.

New Business 1. Possible future projects; o “The Grotto”, o new access to the rectory basement, o new garage roof, o Pavilion upgrades; enclosing the sides, painting, covering the posts. o Landscaping church sides and Classrooms o Meditation path to Grotto

Up- Coming Events:  Men’s Bible Study / Spiritually meeting – July 25th @7:00 in the Rectory  Sunday Breakfast Schedule o Sept 10th  Chicken BBQ – Sept 9th  Shenanigans will be playing at the Molly McGuire’s Irish Festival – Sept 16th noon to 4pm  Oktoberfest – October 7th

The meeting was closed with a prayer. The next meeting will be on Sept 19th. (Only 2 ½ weeks before Oktoberfest!)
