RATE OF PAY: Pay for instructors varies upon credits assigned and class schedule

WORK SCHEDULE: Approximately 5 to 12 hours per week, days and/or evenings

CLOSING DATE: Open pool BIG BEND COMMUNITY COLLEGE, Moses Lake, is updating the pool of applicants for part-time English as a Second Language instructors in Grant and Adams Counties to teach English at all levels to adults. Instructors are expected to assess student performance, create daily lesson plans based on established curriculum and course outlines, and keep attendance records. We may have job openings in Moses Lake, Othello, Royal City, Warden, Soap Lake, Mattawa, George, and Quincy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field from a regionally accredited institution.  Experience working with non-English speaking adults.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience teaching English to non-native speakers.  Bilingual fluency, especially in Spanish.  Demonstrated bicultural experience.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES: In order to be considered, all applicants must submit all of the following application materials:  Completed and signed BBCC Part-Time Teaching Employment Application Form.  Current resume.  Copies of college transcripts of all collegiate work completed or in progress at time of application (if hired official transcripts will be required).  A brief statement (1/2 page) explaining the role of community colleges in adult basic education.
