Dear Parent:

Your BHS AMS student would like to participate in a Field Trip to Chompie’s Deli. We are reading The Diary of Anne Frank, The Devil’s Arithmetic, and studying the background of The Holocaust. I would like to have the students experience some of the more fun aspects of this culture by introducing them to traditional Jewish foods. I have arranged for a tasting menu at the cost of $20 per student. (Includes mini deli sandwiches, mini potato pancakes, bagels with cream cheese, mini potato knish, matzoh ball soup, rugelach (pastry), drinks, tax and tip. (Students with dietary restrictions will choose an appropriate item from the menu, instead of the sampling menu). Along with lunch, students will learn the significance of the foods within Jewish traditions and culture. We will be gone from school for a minimal amount of time, and the only instructional time missed will be my class. Please have your child return this permission slip with $20 cash no later than Friday, December 9th. Exact change is greatly appreciated
