Title Abstractor / Analyst

Abstracted for oil and gas, leasehold and surface ownership for Oil and Gas Title Opinions in Marcellus Shale, more currently Utica Shale drilling projects predominantly in WV. Abstracted on occasion for special projects in PA and OH.

 Trained under Russell L. Schetroma, oil and gas attorney, in oil and gas title analysis, abstracting, and law.

 Responsible for the research, organization, detailed notation and submission of timely and accurate titles for the Energy Division’s examining attorneys and clients. Familiar and knowledgeable regarding Title Opinions. Assisted with due diligence and legal research projects as needed.

 Duties included remotely researching multiple county courthouse databases for title targeted to Drake’s Well era (1859). Compiled applicable ownership and leasehold interest reports, flowcharts, current tax maps, farm maps, deeds, deed plots, outsales, leases, right of ways, power of attorneys, mortgages, liens, Ucc’s/ finance statements, and judgments for digital abstracts. Communicated with associate abstractors, the team lead and examining attorneys regarding the abstract.

 Assisted in in-house training of new employees / attorneys in the abstracting process.

Analyst

Reviewed and analyzed abstractors’ titles, in WV, PA, and OH, and provided detailed reports for attorney review regarding title ownership issues, title defects, and requested additional abstracting as needed. Generated data from analysis reports regarding oil and gas ownership and leasehold ownership into initial title opinion templates for examining attorneys. Attended monthly analyst / attorney meetings held by Russell Schetroma regarding current oil and gas issues.
