I’m starting to think that I can control the weather. More than half of our stops on the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge Trophy Tour have called for rain in the pre-event forecast. Today in Greensboro at the NASCAR Café was no exception.

The pitter patter of rain drops was replaced by the flash of the camera taking pictures of adoring fans and me on the main stage. Day six of the tour is now complete and we’re preparing for a long journey to Asheville for my appearance on Monday.

It was only three days ago we were tooling around the beaches of Wilmington in our Tom Johnson powered RV for my first coastal experience. Now, I can’t wait to see the opposite side of the state and those beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.

The anticipation of the NASCAR NEXTEL Pit Crew Challenge and the NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge are starting to make it harder to sleep. I’m only a few days from knowing who will serve as my owner for the rest of my days and nights. Will it be Jeff Gordon? How about Matt Kenseth? Jimmie Johnson? Only time will tell.

I’ll keep you posted on how the mountains look!
