2007 will mark the tenth anniversary of the SAIL (Students Active in Involvement and Leadership) Conference. We are proud to present this year's theme "Unlock the Secret..." which will focus on incorporating programs to appeal to first year students and fourth year students alike. This conference is a one day experience shaped to help students build upon their leadership skills and learn ways to get involved with various campus organizations as well as how to prepare for graduate school and the workforce. Please visit our website at http://sail.org.ohio-state.edu for registration and conference information! ------Adventures for Wish Kids Carnival
On February 4th, Hillel will be hosting an Adventures for Wish Kids Carnival! For those of you that don't know what this is- Adventures for Wish Kids is an organization that offers adventures and outings to children with life threatening illnesses. You can check it all out at afwk.org or ask me more about it if you'd like. So, on Sunday February 4th (from 1-3pm) we will be having a large carnival here at Hillel (Disney themed!). So, we need organizations to have a game table, or some kind of carnival-esque booth. Your group will need to provide the supplies for the game, but we will provide you with prizes. There is a wide age range, so some can be geared towards little children and some towards older kids. We would need your organization to come up with a game/activity (if you are stuck, I can give you some ideas), provide the supplies and have members at the table at all times (including time for set and break down). Obviously, the more people at the table the better because the children really love to play and interact with cool, hip college students. PLEASE EMAIL ME BACK and let me know if you are interested and would like to participate. Talk to your Greek chapters or organizations and let them know about it.

Humorous and heart breaking, this wonderfully reckless film exposes the effects of a 20-year long war on the children in Northern Uganda through the eyes of three young traveling Americans. Following the movie, the panel discussion will include Scopas Poggo, professor in the Department of African American and African Studies at OSU, Antoinette Errante, professor in Educational Policy & Leadership at OSU, and Halle Butvin, who is leading a student youth summit in Uganda. Spring is a very exciting time—especially at Ohio State! With the start of a new season and a new quarter, here is an opportunity for your organization/department to encourage student involvement in OSU activities and foster an everlasting relationship with the university.
This spring The Ohio State University Alumni Association, along with the May Week Steering Committee and The Student-Alumni Council, is planning a May Week celebration! Dating back to 1910, May Week traditionally has served to showcase campus organizations/departments through events designed to link students, faculty and staff. Class honorary inductions, theater productions, pie-eating contests, bicycle races, school dances, twilight concerts, recognition dinners, service events, rallies, parades, Greek Week events and sporting activities have all been included in past May Week schedules.
As the Steering Committee Chairperson of May Week 2007, I would like to formally invite your organization/department to participate in this campus-encompassing event. Your involvement will enable your organization/department to network with students, faculty, staff and other student organizations/departments while increasing knowledge of your group’s goals and values throughout campus. There are many avenues through which to participate in May Week and a project that parallels your mission can make a positive addition to this year’s schedule of events.
May Week 2007 will be held May 4th-May11th. You can go online now and schedule your events. Go the May Week 2007 website, www.osu.edu/mayweek, and then click “Add an Event to Calendar”.
Major planning for May Week is presently underway. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you and your members about participating in this campus tradition. Please email me at [email protected] to schedule a meeting time to discuss your participation. If you are not responsible for programming this year, please forward this to the person who is or let me know.
Together we can make The Ohio State University May Week 2007 one of the most memorable in school history!

Not to mention the event that starts it all off, which is the Kick off a (carnival like event).
