January 2015 Dear AP Students and Parents:
It is that time of year when we start planning for the Advanced Placement tests. This year the tests will be held during the weeks of May 4-8 and May 11 – 15. The Parent/Student Bulletin will be handed out in AP classes. Please read through it carefully. It is essential that all deadlines be strictly observed as the windows for ordering and receiving tests are narrow. The cost for each test taken is $91.00. A fee reduction of may be requested by students who also qualify for free/reduced lunch. (A Fee Reduction form must be turned in to the Counseling Center by March 6th with verification of eligibility.) Students must be prepared to pay the full amount for the AP Exam in case the Fee waiver is not approved by College Board.
All tests to be taken at Layton High School must be ordered and paid for in the Layton High School main office. It is not necessary for students to pay the total cost at the time of placing the order. A minimum non-refundable deposit of $15 is required for each test ordered and needs to be paid by Friday, March 6, 2015. The balance of the total $91 cost of the test must be paid on or before May 1, 2015. Students who have ordered a test but have not paid the total cost will NOT be allowed to take the test.
Students who failed to reserve tests should NOT plan on extra tests being available on test day. We will only order the number of tests for which we receive deposits. There may be tests available depending on the number of students who decide not to take a test after ordering one, but there is no way to determine this ahead of time.
All AP students who will take at least one exam must attend one of the Pre-administration sessions. These Pre- Administration sessions will be held during late start on April 15th and April 22nd at 7:30 am. Students will only need to attend one of these sessions and need to plan on spending at least 30-45 minutes to complete the information. If students do not complete a pre-administration session, they will not be allowed to take an AP Exam.
Please be aware of the following important dates:
March 7, 2014 Last day to order test by paying $15 deposit in main office
April 15 OR 22 Mandatory Pre-Administration Session during late start (All Students taking any AP Exams must attend one of these sessions!!
May 2, 2014 Last day to pay balance due on $91 total cost for each test ordered. (This will be $76 after having paid the initial $15 deposit.)
May 5, 2014 Testing begins and continues according to schedule set by College Board. Students who anticipate a schedule conflict with the regularly scheduled test should contact Mrs. Hall as soon as possible.
If you have any questions regarding AP tests, please contact Mrs. Hall or Mr. C. Wilson at [email protected] .

P.S. – (Mr. Wilson here) I will clear the absence on the day of the test if you let me know that you have registered for the test. However, the school will expect you back after the test for your other classes. I can only clear the time for the test with travel time. I know that you are all going to Rock the Test!
