The Odyssey Project List. Choose one of the following and present to the class. Projects due: November 17

 Research the clothing worn during Ancient Greece and create an illustrated catalog of these designs or actually create an imitation of one of these designs. The actual costume could be life-sized or doll-sized.

 Research the types of food eaten Ancient Greece or Modern Greece and create a cookbook or bring in samples of these dishes to share with the class. (If you bring food, also include the recipe).

 Research the weapons at the time that The Odyssey was written and create a book of weapons. Clearly label and illustrate the book.

 Using paint, clay or another art medium, create a depiction of a scene from the poem or demonstrate various Greek gods/goddesses

 Make a comic book based on some aspect of Ancient Greece or illustrating the story of The Odyssey

 Act out a scene from The Odyssey or create a dramatic monologue from a god/goddesses point of view or a character in The Odyssey. Turn in a script with your performance.

 Create a video, complete with costumes and sets appropriate to Ancient Greece, depicting a scene from The Odyssey

 Poetry: Write two poems about the gods and goddesses. You may use one formula poem, but one should be creative, non-formulaic. Remember that the purpose of this project is to convey information to your classmates. All poems must be illustrated.

 Create a Board Game

 Perform a Rap or Song about The Odyssey

 Create a Picture Book

 Write a campaign speech nominating your favorite god or goddess for a People’s Choice Award

All projects are graded on the level of creativity, preparation, accurate research, neatness, and professional presentation.
