The U.O. features n. 18 hospital rooms with two beds each with its own bathroom; n. 5 single rooms for a fee at the daily rate of € 70.00;
5 for a total of n. 40 beds, n. 2 of which in DH
The operators are available to provide information to patients every day from 12.30 p.m. to 13.00 p.m.
Activity
The U.O. of Obstetrics and Gynecology, currently composed of director and 13 doctors, is equipped with a guard 24 hours on 24.
At the same hospital unit are a care units intensive anesthesia with active guard for emergencies 24 hours on 24.
This ensures an optimal management of obstetric emergencies and gynecological problems.
The activity of obstetrics includes:
Diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy with both physiological and pathological assistance to 360 ° through dedicated clinics:
1 Clinic for the Monitoring of pregnancy (views, ultrasound, Doppler flow, cardiotocography);
2 Clinic for prenatal diagnosis (ultrascreening of 1 trimester, amniocentesis, ultrasound morphology);
3 Surgery Pregnancy at risk.
The presence of the unit (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and of the U.O. Anesthesia and Intensive Care allows the assistance of the pregnancies at risk (pregnant woman with diabetes, gestational, etc..) of the parties preterm of multiple pregnancies. And provided the "rooming in" of healthy infants, however, that are serviced daily by a team of neonatologists and nurses.
The activity of Gynecology is articulated through the clinics dedicated to:
1 Menopause and postmenopausal osteoporosis that through recruitment and monitoring of patients in climacteric and post-menopausal allows the recognition of pathologies related and associated with post-menopausal and diagnosis also of early neoplastic diseases. this center has twenty years’ experience in close collaboration with the Italian Menopause Project of the AOGOI-Milan;
6 2 Pathology of the lower female genital tract (colposcopy, vulvascopy) which also perform investigations of 2nd level and their treatment in the context of the regional screening cervical cancer;
3 Infertility and Gynaecological Endocrinology, only in the province Enna problem for which there is currently a high index fleeing to other provinces (PA, CT) for perform investigations of level 1;
4 Urinary Incontinence and the Floor Rehabilitation pelvic; very important considering the high standards qualitative and quantitative achieved by our UOC in Treatment of Urinary Incontinence, dysfunction Pelvic Floor (Cystocele, hysterogenic) for which the Our U.O. qualifies as a pilot center in southern Italy for Surgery of the defects of the pelvic floor performed with Minimally invasive methods and by vaginal approach the use of networks and sling.
Surgical activity which is divided into 4 operating sessions weekly, over which the Urogynaecology regards interventions Laparoscopic, both benign and malignant (surgery K ovarian cancer radical with which it deals with now 80% of benign disease, and that uterine adnexal (ovarian cysts, fibroids);
Every week there is at least one session of hysteroscopy is diagnostic and operative interventions electro-ablation, conization with radiofrequency.
