MINUTES OF CCS PTO MEETING – January 13, 2015

Opening prayer - Cheryl Snyder

5 people in attendance

Introductions: Those who were not familiar with one another introduced themselves.

Secretary's report.

Minutes provided. Any questions to Chris or Nichole.

Update given by Cheryl Laffey on Stay and Play. 16 children/9 families participated. Over $200 in donations was collected. It was a good first year for this event. Christine Tate suggested holding it one more week prior to Christmas as this years was the Saturday right before the holiday.

Treasurer's report:

Cheryl Snyder provided a summary page in addition to the standard Profit & Loss ledger. The summary includes recent & significant entries, but not everything, as that would make the summary too long. All in attendance felt the summary was a good tool.

Secret Santa workshop was a fun event for all the children. Feedback of very excited children on Christmas morning were shared. While the profit was slightly over $100, this was not a fundraiser as much as it was an opportunity for the children to purchase affordable gifts for their families. Feedback about the company partnered with this year was positive.

Announcements, Discussion, upcoming events:

Auction-4/11. Venue change to Brookside Country Club in Pottstown. Theme is family vacations. $40 per ticket. Choice of 3 entrees, 1 chicken, 1 steak, 1 fish.

100th day of school celebration at Monkey Joes planned for Feb 6th 6-7. Suggested to plan a snow date in case of bad weather like last year. Also suggested to forgo pre-orders on pizzas as money was lost in previous years due to no shows. Roller skating at Ringing Rocks last year was not well attended and we took a loss. We'd like to at least come out even on events. Donuts with Dad also seemed to be low in participation. It was suggested that we change these 2 events and do another type of parent/child event.

Movie night was suggested and received well the last time a movie night was held. This time we'd like to do a double feature - grammar school appropriate at 6pm & secondary school appropriate 9pm. Cheryl L. & Nichole will work to confirm either 2/27 or 3/6 to hold this event in the chapel. Many chaperones will be desired for the 2nd movie geared toward secondary students as parents will be more likely to drop their children off. It was also suggested that we'd like to have a Consignment date before spring and thought this would pair well to hold it in conjunction with the movie night, as many parents will be in attendance or at the school for drop off/pick up.

PTO had hosted an egg hunt a few years ago as an annual event, and all agreed to bring this event back. 3/28 would be an ideal date. More to come on this.

Teacher appreciation in May. Was a success last year and Nichole have recognition to Mart Niehls who coordinated the food donations for the week.

Closing prayer-Nichole Tucker.
