SUBJECT: RECOMMENDATION TO AWARD A CONTRACT TO TECHOPS OF STEVENSVILLE, MD.
The City has a current CIP project to modernize the Emergency Operations Center. This upgrade includes reconfiguration of the space and a total technology upfit that includes an audio-visual (AV) package that will provide complete situational awareness with in the City. This project will also include integration with the Mobile Command Unit AV.
Integration with our Mobile Command Unit and future planned City technology upgrades will require specialized performance and knowledge requirements that only TechOps possesses. Because of these specialized technology requirements, IT has requested and the City Administrator has approved a competitive bid waiver in accordance with Section II.A.2.E of the City of Laurel Procurement policy dated July 21, 2015.
FUNDING:
Funding for this project is in the current CIP.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Council award the Emergency Operations Center technology upgrade to TechOps of Stevensville, Md. for the contract price of $128,870.36
