Sylla ble 'Twas the Night Before count Christmas

'Twas The Night Before Twas the Day Before Christmas, 7 Christmas,

when all through the house And all through the store, 5 7 Not a creature was stirring All the people were rushing

5 not even a mouse; To spend even more;

5 The stockings were hung The aisles were filled 7 by the chimney with care, With enough people to spare, 7 In hopes that St. Nicholas In hopes that more Transformers 4 soon would be there; Soon would be there;

7 The children were nestled The adults were settled 5 all snug in their beds, Right into their cars, 7 While visions of sugar-plums Their keys in the ignition 5 danced in their heads; And eyes filled with stars;

7 And mamma in her ‘kerchief They started up the engines 5 and I in my cap Drove down the highway, 5 Had just settled down Trunks filled with presents 6 for a long winter’s nap, Ready for Christmas Day;

5 When out on the lawn When in the garage 7 there arose such a clatter, I heard such a commotion, 5 I sprang from my bed I saw that the man 7 to see what was the matter. Had dropped the locomotion;

6 Away to the window I ran to the man’s side 5 I flew like a flash, As quick as a flash, 6 Tore open the shutters Propped him up on the car 5 and threw up the sash. And began to dash;

5 The moon on the breast I need a new toy 6 of the new-fallen snow For my little son, Tim, 7 Gave the luster of mid-day For the last one had broken 5 to objects below, At the hands of Jim;

8 When, what to my wondering Then something appeared before me

eyes 3 should appear’ Dressed in red, 6 But a miniature sleigh, The Salvation Army 6 and eight tiny reindeer, Which had filled me with dread;

7 With a little old driver, I casually walked by 5 so lively and quick, As quick as I could, 6 I knew in a moment I need all my money, 5 it must be St. Nick. Not give as I should;

6 More rapid than eagles But before I had passed, 5 his coursers they came, His gaze I had met, 7 And he whistled, and shouted, He rang his jolly old bell 5 and called them by name; No further I would get;

6 “Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! “Give five dollars today 6 now, Prancer and Vixen! To help people in need, 6 On, Comet! On Cupid! A wonderful feeling 6 on, Donder and Blitzen! You will receive indeed”

6 To the top of the porch! I can’t do this today 6 to the top of the wall! I am in such a rush, 7 Now dash away! Dash away! He began to annoy me 4 dash away all!” I started to flush;

6 As dry leaves that before I gave him a dollar 6 the wild hurricane fly, Hoping he would forget, 8 When they meet with an I darted to the gas station obstacle, 4 mount to the sky, And grabbed a sixlet;

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my hand, and was turning around, Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a

bound.

He was dressed all in fur from his head to his foot, And his clothes were all

tarnished with ashes and soot;

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back, And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes—how they twinkles! his dimples how merry! His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow, And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he help tight in his teeth, And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a little round belly, That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying a finger aside of his nose, And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle, And away they all flew like the down of a thistle. 6 But I heard him exclaim, I arrive back at home 6 ere he drove out of sight, I take off my warm cap, 6 “Happy Christmas to all, Merry Christmas to all, 6 and to all a good-night.” And to all a good nap.
