Objectives: The students will determine and check main ideas, use text structure to understand main ideas, use word structure to determine word meaning, understand features of a time line, and construct a time line to show chronological information. Day 1 Whole Group Instruction Discuss Skill: Main Idea & Details and Strategy: Text Structure on p. 654. Read and discuss “Works of Art or Works of Aliens?” on p. 655, discussing skill and strategy. Complete WB p. 263 WG. Review “Words to Know” and complete Vocabulary Strategy for Endings on p. 656. Students complete WB p. 264 & 265 independently.
Day 2 Whole Group Instruction Read story with a partner and work on trifold Check & review WB pp. 264 & 265. Discuss story.
