Texas Emergency Nurses Association Fundraising Committee Report 2017
Quarter: 1st Quarter Mtg. Jan. 2017 Name of committee: Fundraising Name of person reporting: Teresa Coyne BSN, RN, CEN Chapter home: Texas 10-59 Chapter 457 Position of work and location: Clinical Coordinator at Katy South Memorial Hermann 7p-7a Number of ENA members on committee: Committee meeting schedule (day/time): No specific date or time Planning for 2017 State ENAF Fundraising for Texas: Goals: Raise $5000 for the Vicki Patrick TX Legacy Scholarship Create 2 undergraduate scholarships for $2500.00 (develop names for these scholarships) Develop a TX Endowment Fund & anything over $10,000/year raised for ENAF will go into this fund. (Proposed by Steven – more info below) State & Chapters to consider donation of at least $1/member towards ENAF yearly. T-shirt booster campaign made $77.00 with minimal effort last Oct. 2016 (only sold 12 shirts…) Jan. 2017 Shirt Campaign? (Schedule? Ideas? For shirts to be sold…) I have received 2 Fast Facts for the Triage Nurse; 1 Fast Facts for the Radiology Nurse; & 1 Fast Facts for the Triage Nurse in Japanese to “auction” at the April Conference. La Shawn Ritchie has 4 horizontal violence books to donate for the ENAF “auction” in April Collect other items to be auctioned at the April Conference (Steven to auctioneer) M-Give – the phone texting that ENAF does now – I am still trying to see if Texas can get our own text number so money that we give via a phone text that is added onto to your phone bill will be added to the Texas state challenge & not just the general ENAF pool. (E-mail 1/3/17 – National still working on it) Will cost $199/year to set up our number under national ENA if we are allowed to do it? Create a Texas ENA Foundation (see Steven’s proposal) more information below…. Steven also suggested an “on-line educational program” (lots of work but could be a great income stream along with TNCC/ENPC…. Other ideas: Silent auction (on-line?) Jewelry auction? Basket donations by chapters to raffle/auction off at quarterly meetings? Christmas Ornament/cards/notes/coffee cups with proceeds going to ENAF Challenge coin; Muggies; (Cam’s idea) Create “reminder pledge cards” for chapters, leaders, and members…. Pledge board for meetings? (Peer recognition?) Painting with a twist? Booth at St. Louis National ENA Conference? ($300 for a booth) Develop a way to have “reoccurring monthly donations” so you do not have to come up with a large amount all at once for ENAF…. (Jody) ENA calendar with meeting dates, ENA chapter/state photos, etc.… (Jody) Battle of the bands idea (Jody) Committee member who deserves reward/recognition: Steven Jewell for his “out-of-the-box” thinking, vision, energy, and amazing fundraising talents! Amazing work with his Jody for her ideas & assistance as we begin a new year for the ENAF & Fundraising Committee!
