North Bay Haven & Bay Haven Basketball Academy

What: Basketball Fundamental Development Program and Basketball League

Cost: $20.00 (Basketball Reversible Jersey Fee- see page 2 for sizes)

*In this league, players will work on fundamentals in basketball in the areas of ball handling, offensive and defensive footwork, shooting and passing, and some offensive & defensive principles. After we get done with the daily fundamental work, players will be divided into age appropriate teams and they will play 1 game each Saturday. Coaches will be the NBH JV/varsity players, NBH JV & varsity coaching staff, BH & NBH middle school coaches, and parent volunteers. Most games will be played at NBH HS but some may also be at Bay Haven.

Age Appropriate Rules *K-1st grade players will play on an 8’ rim with a #27 ball (smaller than a women’s ball). *2nd-3rd grade players will play on either a 9’ or 10’ rim with a #28.5 ball (women’s ball). *4-7th grade players will play on a 10’ rim with a men’s ball.

* *Also, players will participate at halftime during various showcase nights at NBH JV and Varsity Basketball contests throughout the season. He/she will also be allowed to attend all MS/HS games for free for being part of the program. I will attach a NBH Boys’ Basketball Schedule with this agenda indicating the player showcase nights.

*We kept the cost as low as possible so that we could get as many BH and NBH students involved and to develop our feeder system for our varsity programs. There will be costs for jerseys and training equipment. If you or someone you know is willing to help sponsor the program please talk to Mr. McLaughlin at the gym or at NBHE. We will also be doing various fundraising events that we expect everyone to participate in to help fund the program. We plan on running a high quality fundamental program that is both fun and one in which students get better. Please make all checks payable to “North Bay Haven Basketball.”

*Registration will take place on Saturday, November 14th in the NBH HS gym. We will have jerseys available for sizing that day. Registration will take place between 8:00-10:00 AM. If you can’t make registration, please send your info to either Mr. McLaughlin ([email protected]) at NBHE or Mr. Bolinger ([email protected]) at BH with your information so we can register your child.
