Day 1 / 03.08 : LA PAZ – ARRIVAL Reception at the airport (flight TA 35 at 23:15) and transfer to the hotel. Lunch and dinner free. Hotel Plaza *****.

Day 2 / 04.08 : LA PAZ / CITY TOUR La Paz city tour (almost 4000 m.a.s.l.): Sagárnaga street and its local handicraft market (one of the most famous of South America), the witches’ street, San Pedro's food market, the historical center and the colonial neighborhood. Lunch and dinner free. Hotel Plaza *****.

Day 3 / 05.08 : LA PAZ Day free. Lunch and dinner free. Hotel Plaza *****.

Day 4 / 06.08 : LA PAZ – TIWANAKU – COPACABANA Departure from the hotel at 08:00 in private transport to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku (1h30). Guided visit (in english) through these pre-Columbian vestiges which are considered to be amongst the most important of the continent. Later on, we skirt Lake Titicaca and the Real Mountain range in order to go to the village of Copacabana. Visit of the more interesting places in the village: la horca del Inca, the cathedral… Ascent of the Calvary to contemplate a magnificent sunset. Lunch and dinner free. Day 5 / 07.08 : COPACABANA - TREK ISLA DEL SOL – YUMANI In the morning, a motor boat will take us to the north side of the Isla del Sol (the Sun Island), at the Inca ruins of Chincana (3h). From there, we begin the trek that, following the crests, will take to the side of the south (2 to 3 hours walking) where we will find the Inca vestiges of Pilkokanai and the so-called Source of the Inca. Cold lunch. All included. Night in The ecolodge “La Estancia” ****. Note: A private boat will be at our disposal for 2 days to transport the group and the backpacks during the walk.

Day 6 / 08.08 : YUMANI – YAMPUPATA – TREK – COPACABANA – LA PAZ Short trip in a motor boat till the peninsula of Yampupata (20 mins). Walk along the peninsula to the village of Copacabana. Along the way, we will go through the “los” village of Zampaya (about 3 to 4 hours). On the way we will see a replica of the Virgen of Lourdes. Return to La Paz by private transport (3/4h). Cold lunch (included). Dinner free. Hotel Plaza *****.

Day 7 / 09.08 : LA PAZ – TOMARAPI – SAJAMA Departure from the hotel at 09:00 by private transport. We cross the Altiplano before arriving at the entrance of the Sajama National Park (approximately 4h). Along the way we will see the Curangas’ tombs (chullpas). We will get into the park through a route that will lead us to the population of Tomarapi. The fauna is numerous and varied: alpacas, vicuñas and ñandus (ostriches’ cousins). We will also see some flamingos on the Huayna Khota lagoon. Later on, we will follow the route to the village of Sajama and, later on, to the sources of hot springs located at the foot of the Sajama volcano. Lunch on the way. All included. Day 8 / 10.08 : SAJAMA – CHILI – LAUCA – PARINACOTA In the morning we cross the Bolivian-Chilean border. In private jeep we reach the Lauca National Park (Chili). Lunar and magic landscapes populated by a very particular fauna: vizcachas, vicuñas, ibis, ducks and wild geese... A true photographic safari at more than 4000 meters. Cold lunch. All included. Night in the house of a villager of Parinacota (limited comfort).

Day 9 / 11.08 : PARINACOTA – LAUCA - PARINACOTA Day to discover the Lauca Park Cold lunch. All included. Night in the house of a villager of Parinacota (limited comfort).

Day 10 / 12.08 : PARINACOTA – SURIRE SALT FLATS– COLCHANE Going south direction, we will pass by the Guallatiri volcano (still active) before arriving to the Surire Salt Flat (2h30), which takes its name from the presence of ñandus in this region (suri in Aymara). We will be able to observe 3 varieties of flamingos as well as numerous llamas, alpacas and vicuñas. We will take a break to lunch near some hot springs. Later on, we take a narrow path that descends to the south, through lands populated by llamas. We will arrive at Colchane by the end of the afternoon (2 to 3 hours from Surire). Cold lunch. Day 11 / 13.08 : ASCENT OF THE ISLUGA VOLCANO. Cold lunch. All included. Night in the house of a villager (limited comfort).

Day 12 / 14.08 : COLCHANE - OLLAGUE Cold lunch. All included. Albergue **.

Day 13 / 15.08 : OLLAGUE – AUCANQUILCHA ASCENT - OLLAGUE Cold lunch. All included. Albergue **.

Day 14 / 16.08 : OLLAGUE – CALAMA – SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA Lunch on the road (included). Dinner free. Hotel Terrantai *****.

Day 15 / 17.08 : SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA – GEYSERS DU TATIO – VALLEY OF THE MOON– SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA Departure at 04:00 for a trip to the geysers of Tatio (2h30). In this place, some of the geysers expel boiling water at nearly 2 meters height. Return to San Pedro at the end of the morning. At 16:30, a trip to the valley of the moon, in the surrounding of the village. Visit of the valley of death, the mirador and the valley of the 3 Marias. We will contemplate a magnificent sunset before returning to San Pedro. Lunch and dinner free. Hotel Terrantai *****.

Day 16 / 18.08 : SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA –ATACAMA SALT FLATS – SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA Day dedicated to discover the Atacama Salt Flats. We will also visit the surrounding: the village of Toconao, valley Jerez and the beautiful lagoons Miscanti and Miñiques with their two volcanoes named after them. Return to San Pedro by the end of the day. Cold lunch (included). Dinner free. Hotel Terrantai *****.

Day 17 / 19.08 : SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA – BOLIVIA – LAGUNA VERDE We go up through the Altiplano to get into the region of Lípez. Later on, we will arrive at Laguna Verde (at the foot of Licancabur volcano - 5960 m.a.s.l.) in order to watch its color change. Possibility of walking around the lagoons in the afternoon, then we will be able to take a bath in the hot springs at the foot of the volcanoes. Cold lunch. All included. Night in a shelter (limited comfort).

Day 18 / 20.08 : ASCENT OF THE LICANCABUR (5960 m.a.s.l.) With mountain guide – without technical difficulties – good physical condition is required. Early in the morning, the 4WD let us at the foot of the volcano at 4550 meters where we begin our tentative ascent of Licancabur. Demanding efforts to reach the top where the view is exceptional (between 6 and 10 hours for the round trip). When returning, we will take a well- deserved bath in the hot springs at the foot of the volcano. Cold lunch. All included. Night in a shelter (limited comfort). Day 19 / 21.08 : LAGUNA VERDE – QUETENA From there 2 or 3 hours to reach Quetena Chico where we will sleep. Cold lunch. All included. Night in the house of a villager (limited comfort).

Day 20 / 22.08 : QUETENA – UTURUNCU (6008 m.a.s.l) – QUETENA - LAGUNA COLORADA With mountain guide – without technical difficulties – good physical condition is required Departure in the morning from the community of Quetena to the surroundings of the Uturuncu volcano ("jaguar" in Quechua). The vehicle will leave us at the end of a former mining track, at 5700 meters of altitude. From there, it will take us about 3 hours to reach the summit and 1 or 2 hours to descend. Return to Laguna Colorada at the end of day. Cold lunch. All included. Night in a shelter (summary comfort).

Day 21 / 23.08 : LAGUNA COLORADA – SAN PEDRO DE QUEMEZ We overcome direction to the north through the magnificent landscapes of the Siloli desert before reaching the so-called “Route of the Jewels”: lagoons Ramaditas, Honda, Ch’arkota, Hedionda and Cañapa, sanctuaries of 3 varieties of flamingos. Then, the road descends from 4200 to 3600 meters of altitude. We will pass at the foot of two important volcanos: Tomasamil (5900 m.a.s.l.) and Ollagüe (still active). Later on, we cross the Salt Flats of Chiguana before arriving to the village of San Pedro de Quemez. Cold lunch. All included. Night in the house of a villager (limited comfort).

Day 22 / 24.08 : SAN PEDRO DE QUEMEZ - SALT FLATS – JIRIRA From San Pedro de Quemez, 2 hours of travel will take us to the Uyuni Salt Flats (3650 m.a.s.l.). On the way we’ll make a stop at “the devil cave”, then we will stop in the heart of the Salt Flats, on the Incahuasi Island. This place, covered by stones or volcanic origin, is also known as the Isla del Pescado (The Fish Island). In the afternoon, we cross the Salt Flats to its northernmost edge at the foot of the Tunupa volcano. Cold lunch. All included. Night in the house of Lupe and Carlos in the Aymara village of Jirira (limited comfort).

Day 23 / 25.08 : ASCENT OF TUNUPA (5400 m.a.s.l.) With mountain guide – without technical difficulties – good physical condition is required. Early in the morning we begin our tentative ascent to the summit of the Tunupa that dominates all the Salt Flats. We will have an exceptional view from the Mirador (4700 m.a.s.l.) that we can reach in 3 hours. The ascent to the top become much more difficult after the mirador and it needs specific material (rope, ice axe), especially if there is snow at the summit (at least 8 hours would be necessary for the round trip). The decision to make the ascent is the responsibility of the participants. Return to Jirira by the end of the afternoon. Cold lunch. All included. Day 24 / 26.08 : JIRIRA - UYUNI – POTOSÍ Departure from Jirira by jeep to the city of Potosí (5 to 6 hours of dirt track). We cross the Frailes Mountain range to arrive to the City of Potosí (nominated as a National Heritage City by UNESCO). Free evening (visit of the Santa Teresa convent recommended). Lunch on the road (included). Dinner free. Hotel Colonial ****.

Day 25 / 27.08 : POTOSÍ VISIT - SUCRE Day dedicated to discover Potosi, an impressive city nominated as a National Heritage City by UNESCO. At 09:00, meeting in the hotel lobby to visit the mines of the Cerro Rico where we will meet miners in their environment. Later on, visit to the Casa de la Moneda, where the Spanish minted the coins for the crown until the XIX century. At 16:00, we leave for Sucre (asphalted road). About 3 hours of a splendid scenery. Arrival to Sucre by the end of the day. Lunch and dinner free. Hotel Independencia ****. Note: trip Potosi - Sucre unaccompanied. Day 26 / 28.08 : SUCRE CITY TOUR Departure from the hotel at 09:00, guided visit of Sucre, colonial town nominated as a National Heritage City by UNESCO. Among others: the textile museum, la Casa de la Libertad (closed on monday), the Recoleta convent, the cathedral…. Lunch and dinner free. Hotel Independencia ****.

Day 27 / 29.08 : SUCRE – LA PAZ Departure from the hotel in private transport 2 hours before the flight for a transfer to the airport. Flight 5L 122 Sucre – La Paz (Depature 14:50 – Arrival 15:35). Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon free. Lunch and dinner free. Hotel Plaza *****. Note: flight La Paz – Sucre unaccompanied.

Day 28 / 30.08 : LA PAZ – COROICO / THE INFERNAL DESCENT BY MOUNTAIN BIKE We leave La Paz in private transport at 09:00 to La Cumbre (4750 m.a.s.l. -1h). We begin at this height our singular descent by mountain bike. After each curve, the landscape becomes greener, the air more humid and the breeze warmer... After having descended more than 3500 meters, we arrive to Yolosa (1100 m.a.s.l.) in a few hours. The final part, an abrupt ascent of 7km (650 meters of difference) that finishes in the village of Coroico, a little piece of paradise located in the heart of the Yungas. (Possibility of making the final part in the support vehicle). Cold lunch (included). Dinner free. Hotel Viejo Molino **** / swimming pool.

Day 29 / 31.08 : COROICO – LA PAZ Free morning by a pool or a short walk around the village (in 4WD or by foot) or trip by the river Vagante. Lush vegetation, waterfalls and icy torrents. Return to La Paz during the afternoon (4h). Lunch and dinner free. Hotel Plaza *****.

Day 30 / 01.09 : DEPARTURE Departure from the hotel in private transport, 3 hours before the flight, for a transfer to the airport / international flight TA 34 at 08:50.
