Kalamazoo Contractor Site Access and Initial Training Requirements Non-Engineering Sponsored Contractors

These instructions apply to contractors working at any Pfizer Kalamazoo site who are sponsored by a Non-Engineering department (production/lab/office/enabler support, consultant, etc.). See below for a list of Engineering departments. If the new contractor is sponsored by one of these departments, then they are considered an Engineering contractor. Obtaining a Badge and Initial On-Site Training

1. Badges will be issued at the Badge Office locations listed below from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday – Friday (except for Company Holidays). Contractors should report to the Badge Office nearest to their assigned work location:  Portage Site (PGS) – Inside the B186 Fire Station Building on Romence Road in Portage  Downtown Site (VMRD) – B300 on Portage Street in downtown Kalamazoo

2. After receiving a badge for the first time, contractors must be met by a sponsor representative the first time they enter the site. Suppliers and sponsors must make arrangements for someone to meet the new contactor at a designated time and location (turnstile, lobby, etc.).

3. Sponsors must ensure that new contractors receive area-specific orientation training. A Contractor Work Area Orientation Checklist will be provided to the contractor by the Badge Office. This checklist must be completed prior to the contractor beginning work for the first time.

4. Sponsors must ensure that Safe Work Permit training is also completed if required. This training may be required for contractors who perform equipment maintenance or repair activities. If the contractor will be performing equipment maintenance or repair activities, contact a representative below to determine if this training is required.

General Requirements and Prerequisites

1. Badge requests for new contractors must be initiated using the Supplier Gateway

2. Each contractor must satisfy all of the requirements of Pfizer Corporate Procedure #117, available from the Supplier Gateway and the Kalamazoo Contractor Administration (KCA) web site (link to web site), including but not limited to: a. Drug and alcohol testing b. Background checks and debarment checks c. 3. Each contractor must successfully complete the Contractor Orientation computer-based training (CBT) located on the Kalamazoo Contractor Administration web site (link to CBT). a. A score of 100% within 3 attempts is required for successful completion b. The training must be completed prior to the access request being approved c. Successful completion of this training is required annually to maintain site access d. For training assistance, contact KCA at (269) 833-7048

4. Badges must be obtained within 30 days after approval.

5. Additional site-specific and area-specific requirements not specified in this document may apply prior to beginning work at any site. Contact the sponsor for details.
